Pokemon Scarlet and Violet's latest 7-star Tera Raid boss features a Dragon Tera Type Sceptile, which will be available to battle on June 28-30, 2024, and July 5-7, 2024, from Midnight to 11:59 pm UTC. Naturally, trainers are already devising plans to defeat this boss and collect its rewards, but can you beat Dragon Sceptile in a single hit? Fortunately, the answer is yes, and doing so is pretty simple.

As with just about any OHKO strategy in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet's 7-star raids, you'll need the right Pokemon for the job and have them trained and outfitted in a specific way to achieve one-hit knockout success.

With that in mind, it doesn't hurt to examine exactly how you can beat Dragon Sceptile in one hit.

In this Pokemon Scarlet and Violet OHKO strategy, you'll need four player-controlled Pocket Monsters built in a specific way, but Crabominable will be your choice to land the fatal one-hit attack on Sceptile.

All participants should have maximum IVs, and the core mechanic will involve Crabominable's ability, Anger Point, to maximize its Attack stat before it strikes with a Choice Band-powered Avalanche move.

Below, you can find the necessary team loadout to succeed in this OHKO strategy. However, keep in mind that the one-hit KO will require two turns to set up:

Once you have your Pokemon Scarlet and Violet team assembled, here are the steps you can follow to ensure a one-hit KO victory with two turns of setup that should ensure the team stays safe while it sets up the necessary knockout combo:

  1. On turn one, have Crabominable use an Attack Cheer (Go all out!). Follow with Froslass using Frost Breath on Crabominable to activate its Anger Point ability while Umbreon uses Screech and Alolan Ninetales uses Aurora Veil.
  2. On turn two, Froslass should use Helping Hand first, followed by Umbreon's second Screech. Alolan Ninetales should activate a Heal Cheer (Heal up!), and Crabominable should attack last with Avalanche.

If followed correctly, Frost Breath should trigger Crabominable's Anger Point, increasing its Attack stat by six stages. Sceptile's Defense will be lowered via Umbreon's Screech attacks, and Aurora Veil/Healing Cheer will ensure the raid party stays safe and healthy.

With these steps, Avalanche should deal 12,588 - 14,810+ damage, which is more than enough to topple Sceptile's HP bar in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet's latest 7-star Tera Raid.
