Iron Leaves has returned to Pokemon Scarlet and Violet through a limited-time event set to take place from April 26 to May 6, 2024. Iron Leaves will be available in Pokemon Violet, meaning players will need to either have Pokemon Violet, or they will need to be in contact with someone who does so they can be invited to its respective Tera Raid.
Where many players would rather attempt this raid with their friends or with random players online, some daring trainers may want to try to take down Iron Leaves in one hit. However, given the Paradox Pokemon's high stat pool, many players may not know if this is possible. So what should these players know if they intend on going this route when taking down the newest Tera Raid Boss?

Iron Leaves may be a bit tricky to deal with as it has high Attack, Speed, and Special Defense stats. However, this does not mean that it is impossible to take down in one hit. From the research and testing that has been done, there is only one monster with the capacity to one-shot Iron Leaves.
Even with the right Pokemon, players will still need to take a few turns to set up to have the stats necessary to take it down. Thankfully, Gholdengo has not only the best moveset for this, but also a Steel and Ghost typing which allows it to stand against it defensively as well.
Gholdengo may be a bit tricky to get in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet as it requires the collection of 999 Gimmighoul coins, but it is well worth the effort to obtain. Not only is this monster great for dealing with Iron Leaves in this fight, but it is also a decent choice for competitive ranked battles as well. Here is the strategy players should use if they want to use Gholdengo to one-shot Iron Leaves in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.
How to one-shot Iron Leaves using Gholdengo in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet
Before entering the fight, players will want to make sure their Gholdengo has the highest Special Attack stat possible. This can be done by giving it a Modest nature through natural means or by giving it a nature mint. Additionally, players will want to give their Gholdengo the maximum amount of Special Attack IVs, which can be granted naturally or through Hyper Training.
For this strategy, players will want to open by using Metal Sound on Iron Leaves to weaken its Special Defense. Afterward, they will want to use the next three turns maxing out its Special Attack once again using Nasty Plot. This will take three turns to do. Finally, finish the match by using Shadow Ball. If done correctly, this will defeat Iron Leaves in a single hit.
