Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are currently hosting special Tera Raids for Kingambit and Annihilape, which will continue till December 19. Annihilape, in particular, is one Pokemon many players may want to get their hands on, following its stellar performance in single battle formats.
With Annihilape being only a Five-Star Raid Boss, trainers can take him down solo if they have the optimal Pokemon for it. Here are some helpful tips trainers should keep in mind if they intend to challenge this boss by themselves.

Annihilape may be hard to prepare for offensively due to it not having a set Tera Typing. Rather, these event Annihilapes can use any Tera Type of their choosing. As such, the best way players can prepare for it is defensively, by mitigating the amount of damage its moves can do.
For this fight, Annihilape's attacking moves will be Rage Fist, Stomping Tantrum, Close Combat, and Throat Chop. These are Ghost, Ground, Fighting, and Dark-type moves respectively. While it may be hard to find a particular counter that blocks all four typings, there are quite a few Pokemon that can resist most of these elements.

Arceus is the best Raid Battler players can use in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. Thanks to its wide move pool and adaptable build with its type-changing ability, Arceus can quickly adapt to any Raid Boss trainers may encounter.
Here is a great build players can use for Arceus:
- Nature: Modest (+ Special attack, - Attack)
- Tera Type: Any
- Held Item: Whatever plate gives it a type advantage
- Effort Values: 252 Special attack, 252 HP, 4 Defense
- Moves: Judgement, Acid Spray, Recover, Calm Mind
Acid Spray allows Arceus to debuff Annihilape's special defense stat, while Calm Mind increases Arceus' special attack and special defense. Recover is used for sustain, while Judgement is a strong move that always matches Arceus' type, meaning optimal play will always have it deal super-effective damage.

Enamorus in its Therian form can also be a helpful ally thanks to its Fairy and Flying typing, granting it resistance against three of Annihilape's four attacking types. Much like Arceus, it can only be obtained in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet via transfer from Pokemon HOME.
Here is a great build players can use for Enamorus:
- Nature: Modest (+ Special attack, - Attack)
- Tera Type: Any
- Held items: Shell Bell
- Effort Values: 252 Special attack, 252 HP, 4 Defense
- Moves: Moonblast, Calm Mind, Draining Kiss, Iron Defense
Calm Mind and Draining Kiss are the two biggest assets to this build as they allow Enamorus to buff and sustain itself. The other moves can be adapted depending on Annihilape's Tera Typing.
