Pokemon GO is hosting special Corviknight Tera Raids in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet until December 5, 2024. Unlike other special raid events in the games, these battles are not restricted to a single Tera Type. Rather, they can appear as any of the Tera Typings in the game.

Since these raids are set to a Five-Star difficulty level rather than a Seven-Star one, many players are looking to take down Corviknight without assistance from other trainers. This can be beneficial for quickly farming the rewards that these encounters drop.

Since Corviknight can have any Tera Typing in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, it can be a bit difficult to prepare an optimal offensive counter for the boss. However, its moveset is very consistent between fights, with only Brave Bird, Drill Peck, and Steel Wing for attacking moves. These moves do not hit every type of creature effectively, so it can be easy to wall it off.

All these moves are also physical attacks, so Pocket Monsters with high defense stats will have the best chance against Corviknight. Choosing creatures with adaptable move pools is also beneficial as it increases the types of Corviknight raids they can participate in.

Thankfully, there are a couple of different counters players can use to solo Corviknight.

When it comes to walling off Corviknight defensively, Magnezone can make for one of the best options players can use.

Magnezone has an impressive base 115 defense stat and an Electric and Steel typing. This combination resists every attack Corviknight has access to, taking only 1/4 of the full damage from its moves.

Here is a great build players can use for Magnezone:

  • Nature: Modest (+ Special attack, - Attack)
  • Held Item: Shell Bell
  • Tera Type: Any
  • Effort Values: 252 Special Attack, 252 Defense, 4 HP
  • Moves: Thunderbolt, Flash Cannon, Iron Defense, Body Press

This set excels at walling off Corviknight's damage while having the stats to sit for a couple of turns buffing its defense with Iron Defense. For certain matchups, players can use Body Press, which has its damage scale off the user's Defense stat rather than their physical attack.

For advanced players with access to many different creatures, Arceus is the ultimate tool for soloing high-level Tera Raids. This is thanks to its incredible flexibility, having a different type depending on the plate it is holding. This also changes the type of its signature move, Judgement.

Here is a build players can use for Arceus in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet for Tera Raids:

  • Nature: Modest (+Special attack, - Attack)
  • Held item: Whatever plate gives it the advantage
  • Tera Type: Any
  • Effort Values: 252 Special Attack, 252 Defense, 4 HP
  • Moves: Acid Spray, Judgement, Calm Mind, Recover

With this build, players can debuff Corviknight's special defense stat and buff Arceus's special attack damage output with Calm Mind.

Players just need to spam Acid Spray until they minimize Corviknight's special defense, use a couple of Calm Minds, and finish the boss in a couple of hits with Judgement.
