What is super effective on Camerupt?

As a Fire/Ground-type creature in Pokemon, Camerupt takes super effective damage from Water and Ground-type moves. It takes 160% damage from Ground-type attacks but has a double weakness to Water-type and receives 256% damage from them. Thus the Water-type attack is the preferred option to solo defeat Camerupt in Pokemon GO.

With a base stat spread of 152 Attack, 110 Defense, 3,600 HP, and a Combat Power of 15,409, Camerupt is far from the most dangerous 3-star raid boss. This allows multiple Water-type Pokemon to counter and defeat Camerupt on their own without much trouble.

Which Pocket Monsters can solo defeat Camerupt in Pokemon GO?

By and large, Primal Kyogre with Waterfall as its Fast Attack and Origin Pulse as its Charged Attack is the best option to solo Camerupt raids. According to PokeBattler simulations, it can defeat this raid in 49.7 seconds when it has quality IVs and an approximate CP of around 5,902. This can be done even if Weather Boost isn't active and by empowering Kyogre in rainy weather, which can speed up the raid even more.

This counter strategy gives you an approximate buffer time of 130.3 seconds, which is more than enough time to solo defeat Camerupt in Pokemon GO even if things don't go as planned. Additionally, the following Water-type Pokemon should also be more than capable of getting the job done as long as they have the highest possible IVs and CP:

  • Shadow Kyogre with Waterfall and Origin Pulse
  • Mega Swampert with Water Gun and Hydro Cannon
  • Mega Blastoise with Water Gun and Hydro Cannon
  • Mega Gyarados with Waterfall and Hydro Pump
  • Shadow Gyarados with Waterfall and Hydro Pump
  • Shadow Swampert with Water Gun and Hydro Cannon
  • Shadow Feraligatr with Water Gun and Hydro Cannon
  • Shadow Empoleon with Waterfall and Hydro Cannon

When using most of the picks above that aren't Primal Kyogre, some fainting may occur, but as long as you have some Max Revives available, they should still be effective enough to solo defeat Camerupt in Pokemon GO 3-star raids.
