Best counters to solo defeat Cryogonal in Pokemon GO 3-star Max Battles
Given Cryogonal's Ice-typing, it takes super-effective damage from Fire-, Fighting-, Rock-, and Steel-type attacks. You can find out more about such matchups using our Pokemon Type Calculator.
When going solo, you should only use level 35 counters if you are utilizing the top-of-the-crop picks with their appropriate movesets. If not, you may try to compensate using higher-level (40+) attackers.
Unfortunately, there are no eligible Rock-types, as of this writing. So, here is a list of the best counters to solo defeat Cryogonal in Pokemon GO 3-star Max Battles:
- Gigantamax Charizard with Fire Spin (G-Max Wildfire) and Blast Burn
- Dynamax Charizard with Fire Spin (Max Flare) and Blast Burn
- Dynamax Machamp with Counter (Max Knuckle) and Dynamic Punch
- Dynanamax Metagross with Bullet Punch (Max Steelspike) and Meteor Mash

Optimal strategy to solo defeat Cryogonal in Pokemon GO 3-star Max Battles
When trying to beat Cryogonal on your own, lead with Dynamax Metagross, as it resists four out of the five potential Charged Attacks. Use Metagross' type advantage and bulk to soak in damage, while chipping away at the Power Spot boss' health and charging your Dynamax Energy bar.
Once the meter is full, bring out Gigantamax Charizard (or the next best counter you have at your disposal). Hit Cryogonal with three Max Attacks.
Repeat the process until one of these creatures faints. You should still have one full-health attacker left and Cryogonal should not have more than 1/3 of its HP at this point. Bring out your last attacker and keep dishing out damage to the Power Spot boss until it faints.
This strategy doesn't require any Max Move upgrades or the unlocking of Max Guard or Spirit.
