October 2023 brings the Timburr Community Day to Pokemon GO. The creature will spawn in large numbers in the wild from 2 pm to 5 pm local time. The event will also have increased odds of encountering the shiny version of this critter. Evolving Gurdurr — the middle evolution stage — during this period or five hours after will give you a Conkeldurr that knows the Charged Attack, Brutal Swing.
After the main event of Pokemon GO's October Community Day concludes, Gurdurr will appear in four-star raids. These raids will be in-person only, making it difficult for many trainers to participate with a large group of people. Others might wish to challenge the raid boss alone for the sake of it. Either way, this guide should help you figure out how to solo defeat Gurdurr.
Note: The suggestions in this article are based on simulations under ideal conditions, and the results may vary based on various factors.

How to defeat Gurdurr raids solo in Pokemon GO
Gurdurr is a Fighting-type Pocket Monster in Pokemon GO, making it weak to Fairy, Psychic, and Flying-type attacks. A team consisting of high-level critters of these types with high Attack stats can solo defeat this creature, but it might not be a walk in the park.
In Pokemon GO, Gurdurr has base 180 Attack, 134 Stamina, and 198 Stamina. It can use Low Kick or Poison Jab as its Fast Attack and Low Sweep, Brick Break, or Stone Edge as its Charged Attack.
A team combination consisting of high-level variants of the following critters will be best suited to take down Gurdurr on your own.
Psychic-type counters
- Shadow and/or Mega Gardevoir with Confusion and Psychic
- Shadow Mewtwo with Psycho Cut and Psystrike
- Mega Alakazam with Confusion and Psychic
- Shadow Metagross with Zen Headbutt and Psychic
Fairy-type counters
- Shadow and/or Mega Gardevoir with Charm and Dazzling Gleam
- Xerneas with Geomancy and Moonblast
- Shadow Granbull with Charm and Play Rough
- Togekiss with Charm and Dazzling Gleam
Flying-type counters
- Mega or regular Rayquaza with Air Slash and Dragon Ascent
- Shadow Moltres with Air Slash and Sky Attack
- Yveltal with Gust and Oblivion Wing
- Shadow Staraptor with Wing Attack and Brave Bird
Take as many Psychic-type creatures as you can since they are the only critters that don't take super-effective damage from any of Gurdurr's possible moves in Pokemon GO.
It would help if you also had a bunch of Max Revives stocked up since the clock will be your biggest enemy. You don't want to waste time separately reviving and healing your team.
Please note that the Gurdurr you will encounter after this battle can't be shiny. However, you will have plenty of chances to find Shiny Timburr during the event.
