Pokemon Scarlet and Violet's latest 7-star Tera Raid features an Electric Tera Type Emboar, and trainers are already preparing to take it down in battle and capture it. What if players can't invite a few friends to join the raid, can they defeat Electric Emboar solo? They can, but it will require a fine-tuned counter Pokemon that has the right held items, moves, and EV training, among other things.
Although there are multiple avenues to follow to beat Electric Emboar raids solo in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, one, in particular, has proved to be exceedingly effective. This solo method will take some time to establish and requires a pretty rare legendary Pokemon, but with the right build, Electric Emboar shouldn't stand much of a chance.

How to beat 7-star Electric Emboar in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet raids
Before diving into the raid, trainers should be aware of the behavioral pattern that Emboar will follow so they can react and prepare accordingly. The steps that Emboar will take during the battle can be found below:
- At 90% HP or 80% Raid Time: Tera Energy Shield activates.
- At 90% Raid Time: The stats and status effects of raiding Pokemon are reset.
- At 80% Raid Time: Emboar's status effects and stats are reset.
- At 55% HP: Emboar's status effects and stats are reset.
- At 40% HP: Emboar will use Bulk Up twice to boost its Attack and Defense stats.
- At 20% HP: Emboar will attack with Heat Crash.
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players can beat Emboar solo with Therian Landorus with these steps:
- At the outset of battle, Intimidate will activate and lower Emboar's Attack stat.
- Use Swords Dance two to three times to skyrocket Landorus' Attack stat. If possible, Leer can also be used to lower Emboar's Defense stat.
- Use either Mud-Slap or Earthquake to build Tera Orb charge. Mud-Slap is preferred, as it will lower Emboar's accuracy and make its attacks less likely to hit.
- When Emboar resets the stats of the raiding Pokemon, re-apply Swords Dance to increase Therian Landorus' Attack stat once more.
- Once your Tera Orb is charged, Terastallized into a Ground-type and use Earthquake to obliterate Emboar's HP.
If followed correctly, Therian Landorus should take very little damage while Earthquake devastates Emboar's HP. Mud-Slap should keep Emboar from hitting Landorus often (if at all), and Shell Bell will ensure that Therian Landorus can heal over the course of the fight. Afterward, all that's left for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players to do is reap the raid rewards.
