So called ‘Eevee-lutions,’ the multiple evolutions of the Pokemon Eevee, have been around in Pokemon Go for a while and have been around in the original Pokemon games for even longer. Of the first three ‘Eevee-lutions’ to exist, Vaporeon was the one who covered the element of water in the water, fire, electric trio.
About Vaporeon
Vaporeon is a water type Pokemon that was originally introduced in the Pokemon games Red and Green in Japan and Red and Blue in other countries. This Pokemon is often mistaken for a mermaid in the water and boasts a powerful set of water type moves that are well suited to putting out any raging fire type. As it is only a water type, it is weak to electric and grass type moves but is resistant to fire, ice, steel, and water type moves. Combined with Vaporeon’s high HP, it makes this Pokemon incredibly good at taking a hit.
Vaporeon spawn very rarely near bodies of water, including streams, rivers, lakes, beaches, oceans, or harbors.
How to Get Vaporeon in Pokemon Go
Vaporeon can be caught in the wild near water but due to its rarity this isn’t the best way to get it. The easiest way to get a Vaporeon is to evolve it from an Eevee, as it requires far less effort and luck.
Since it can be random which ‘Eevee-lution’ the Eevee may evolve into, name the Eevee ‘Rainer’ to guarantee it evolving into a Vaporeon as specific names will force Eevee to evolve into different forms.
Requirements to Get Vaporeon
Evolving an Eevee into a Vaporeon is simple and only requires you to give an Eevee 25 Eevee candy. Though if you aren’t using the nickname trick, or have already used it to get a Vaporeon (the trick only works once per name) then you might want to collect more.
Being a normal type, Eevee are relatively common and can appear anywhere. They don’t have special areas they appear in like Fire or Electric types so search for Eevee wherever you like.

In Generation I, Vaporeon had a notably different design with the backs of its ears being all black, fins on each leg, and a fin running down the entire length of its back. All of these details were removed in Generation II. Notably, these details weren't present in its original Pokémon Red and Green artwork.
Vaporeon was designed by Atsuko Nishida.
Vaporeon has the highest base HP stat of all Eeveelutions.
Conclusion
Vaporeon, like the other two original ‘Eevee-lutions,’ is relatively easy to obtain and is exceptionally tanky. If you want a Pokemon to put in a gym to keep it for your team as long as possible, Vaporeon’s high health and multiple resistances make it an excellent choice. Not to mention if it know’s Hydro Pump it can dish out damage just as well as it can take it.
