Pokemon Unite players typically have at least one or two opponents they can't stand facing off against, and it seems that Gardevoir has drawn some ire as of late. In a recent Unite Reddit post, user u/Da_butterman went on a partially capitalized collection of complaints toward Gardevoir and long-range Pocket Monsters in general, remarking at the beginning of their post "I HATE HER!":
Some players attempted to comment on the post in good faith, showing their surprise that Da_butterman had seen defender role players actually protect their long-range DPS teammates. Others immediately suspected that the post was some sort of joke based on its use of over-the-top capitalization and emojis. Whatever the case, players still gave their own opinions on the matter.
By and large, most commenters didn't seem to share the sentiment that they had a difficult time with Gardevoir and continued to express their surprise that Da_butterman was actually running into tank players who didn't wander off.

A few Gardevoir mains even said they felt honored that a player would make a post with so much frustration about Gardevoir, feigned or not.
Understandably, some Pokemon Unite fans might have trouble with Gardevoir, especially if it's played by a knowledgeable player and has excellent assistance from its tank or support.
Gardevoir's damage output might not be the most deadly in the MOBA title, but if left unchecked, it can still cause plenty of problems. For this reason, learning to counterplay against the Pocket Monster can take a little time.
Still, compared to the likes of other carries like Miraidon or Inteleon, Gardevoir is typically much more manageable. Even so, some players simply struggle against certain opponents, even if they aren't necessarily considered high-tier or domineering in the ongoing meta.
Is Gardevoir too strong in Pokemon Unite?
Although Gardevoir is a very good burst attacker in Pokemon Unite, it's not exactly overpowered in the way other picks, like Miraidon and Zacian, are often considered. Thanks to its abundance of AOE moves, long basic attack range, and access to quality stuns and disables, Gardevoir can deal heavy burst damage and temporarily incapacitate opponents that are a threat to it.
Like many attackers, Gardevoir's biggest Achilles Heel is its low durability and overall health. If a player can close in on Gardevoir quickly, it can only put up so much of a fight. This is where speedsters like Dodrio, Leafeon, Talonflame, Zoroark, and Absol thrive. Due to their immense movement speed while having good damage output, they're the perfect candidates to gank Gardevoir.
Since Gardevoir can burst down targets in lane and teamfights quite easily, it's advised for junglers and speedsters to bide their time until Gardevoir is alone or has already used its Unite Move recently. At this point, moving in for a close-quarters encounter with Gardevoir should see the speedster with the upper hand, allowing them to burst the critter's middling HP down and send it back to base.
When it comes to matchups, practice makes perfect. Dealing with Gardevoir might be stressful at times, but with the right gameplan and practice, this long-range attacker isn't worth being afraid of.
