Appearance
Igglybuff stands 0.3 meters tall and looks like a smiling balloon with a round pink body, short arms and legs that extend directly from the bottom of its body. It has a fluffy tuft of hair on its head, red eyes and a black swirl on its forehead.
Behavior
Igglybuff is a happy Pokémon that loves to play and sing. While its evolved form, Jigglypuff, is known to sing for hours, Igglybuff can only sing for short periods of time because its vocal cords are still developing. It typically inhabits lush grasslands near freshwaters, rivers and streams.
Strengths and Weaknesses
Igglybuff’s Normal and Fairy typing makes it immune against Ghost and Dragon-type moves, resistant against Bug and Dark-types and weak against Poison and Steel-type moves.
Shiny Igglybuff
Shiny Igglybuff trades its pink body for a pale pink body but the biggest difference is the swirl on its forehead. In the normal version, it is black but in the shiny version it switches to pale grey-ish colour. This subtle palette swap makes it easy to overlook Shiny Igglybuff in Pokémon collections and battles. But like all shiny Pokemon, Shiny Igglybuff gains a starry animation when it enters a battle, so keep an eye out for a sureshot way of spotting one.
Best moveset (Igglybuff)
Igglybuff Nature: Calm
Igglybuff Ability: Competitive
Igglybuff Held Item: Eviolite
Hyper Voice | Psychic |
Protect | Wish |
Igglybuff has some of the lowest stats in the game, so it isn’t a particularly great battler but it can serve as a wall in certain scenarios. An Eviolite, as a held item, is necessary to give it decent defenses. Hyper Voice deals STAB damage while Psychic provides coverage against Poison types. Protect and Wish work together to help Igglybuff wall opponents. Competitive, as an ability, makes Igglybuff sturdier whenever its foes attempt to lower its stats. A Calm nature maximizes Igglybuff’s defensive ability by raising its Special Defense and reducing its Attack.

How to catch Igglybuff in Pokemon Go?
Igglybuff does not appear in the wild or in Field Research rewards and it has never appeared as a Raid Boss. It could previously hatch from Pokémon eggs but it’s currently not able to and was also briefly available as part of the Johto baby Pokémon event and the Eggstravaganza 2019 event. At the moment, Igglybuff can’t be obtained by any method in Pokémon Go. It does evolve into Jigglypuff after being fed 25 candies, which further evolves into Wigglytuff at 50 candies. The evolution line has a short buddy distance of 1km which makes candy collecting slightly easier.
