Is Annihilape with Rage Fist good in Pokemon GO PvP?

In GBL, Rage Fist is a 50 base power move (60, when considering STAB) that costs 35 energy and is guaranteed to boost the user's Attack by one stage. Annihilape with Rage Fist sees a massive comeback in the present season of trainer battles.

With its previous moveset, Annihilape had fallen from grace in the Open Great League after the Season 20 Counter nerfs. However, Rage Fist shakes things up a lot.

Instead of depending on Night Slash or Ice Punch as your bait move, you can use Rage Fist. The move's guaranteed Attack being raised by one stage means your second Charged Attack will either knock them out or make them wish it did.

Overall, the addition of Rage Fist is excellent news for Annihilape, who is expected to regain success across the board. It has better results with the new moveset compared to the previous one in all simulated scenarios.

Is Annihilape with Rage Fist good in Pokemon GO PvE?

Rage Fist Annihilape is unlikely to do much better than the variant without the exclusive move. This is not so much because of the attack's power level, but because of the Fast Attacks that Annihilape can use — both of which are Fighting.

If you are using an Annihilape for battles against Ghost and Psychic-types, you can go for either Rage Fist or Shadow Ball, as they have identical stats.
