With Pokemon GO's Adventure Week: Taken Over event bringing multitudes of Shadow Pokemon to the mobile game, many players are looking at their movesets a bit more critically. By now, a lot of trainers are familiar with the Frustration attack. This move is learned by all Shadow Pokemon.
One of the best bonuses granted by Team Rocket events is the ability to use TMs on Shadow Pokemon to delete this move, but some trainers may want to know if there is any real purpose behind Frustration. Here is everything to know about this move in Pokemon GO.
Why Frustration is the worst attack in Pokemon GO

Frustration is actually the worst Charged Attack in Pokemon GO, but it is meant to be. This is because Shadow Pokemon are meant to have strong negative aspects in the game.
In the main series, Shadow Pokemon are much stronger but have the downside of being volatile, taking damage randomly and often ignoring orders. This was translated into Pokemon GO by making Frustration, the move most Shadow Pokemon have by default, the worst in the game. This is why Team GO Rocket-oriented events offer the bonus of granting players the ability to switch this move out through the use of TMs.
In both Raids and Trainer Battles, Frustration has a base power of 10. This makes it the weakest attack in terms of base power. It also costs 70 energy to use in Trainer Battles, making it a humungous waste of energy as well. Even if the creature using the attack were to benefit from the same-type attack boost, Frustration would still be the weakest attack in the game.
How to get rid of the Frustration Charged Attack in Pokemon GO
Sadly, the only possible way you can get rid of Frustration on your Shadow Pokemon is to wait for one of Team Rocket's Takeovers to occur on live servers. This event happens around every three or four months and only lasts a few days.
Thankfully, the next Team Rocket Takeover is happening during the Adventure Week event for Pokemon GO's Adventure Week: Taken Over crossover event. This occurrence will take place from August 8 until August 12. Not only will this event grant you the ability to remove Frustration from the Shadow Pokemon with Charged TMs, but it will also feature new Shadow variants to collect.
