Timburr, one of the Fighting-type Pocket Monsters from the Generation V main series games, is the star of Pokemon GO's October 2023 Community Day. The critter was initially released in January 2020 and even had its shiny release in March 2020. However, it has been ever-elusive, only appearing briefly in Eggs, Raids, and even more infrequently in the wild.
One of the bonuses of Pokemon GO's October 2023 Community Day is that evolving a Timburr during the event or up to five hours after will give you a Conkeldurr that knows the Charged Attack Brutal Swing. Evolving Gurdurr into Conkeldurr can be a bit of an ordeal since you are either required to trade it or feed it 200 Candy.
This might make some trainers wonder about Brutal Swing Conkeldurr's viability in the PvP scene of the game since having a Dark-type attack on a Fighting-type critter is virtually useless when it comes to most PvE battles. This article gives you a complete overview of this matter.

Is Brutal Swing Conkeldurr good in Pokemon GO Battle League?
Conkeldurr is a Fighting-type Pocket Monster in Pokemon GO, which leaves it vulnerable to Psychic, Flying, and Fairy-type critters. With Brutal Swing, it can potentially retaliate against some Psychic-type creatures. However, how well that happens in reality remains to be seen.
Brutal Swing is a Dark-type Charged Attack in Pokemon GO that deals 65 damage at 40 energy cost. With this Attack, Conkeldurr's viability in the open Great League and the open Ultra League increases drastically.
With its previous second Charged Attack choice, Stone Edge, the critter used to win 11 and 21 Great League and Ultra League matchups, respectively. With Brutal Swing in play, these numbers rise to 21 and 27, respectively.
While there is not much difference, in the Master League, Conkeldurr performs decently, especially when put in suitable teams.
While the availability of Brutal Swing doesn't make as much of a difference for Conkeldurr as the availability of Volt Switch for Charjabug or Blast Burn does for Charizard, it definitely improves the critter's potential across various Pokemon GO PvP formats.
How to get a Conkeldurr that knows Brutal Swing in Pokemon GO
You can get a Conkeldurr that knows Brutal Swing by evolving Gurdurr on October 15, 2023, from 2pm to 10 pm local time. This can be done by feeding the critter 200 Candy or trading with a friend.
If you miss the chance to evolve the Pocket Monster during the event, you can always teach it Brutal Swing using an Elite Charged TM afterward.
