"It happens at least once a month": Pokemon GO players comment on reported Tynamo Community Day issues

Pokemon GO players once again faced setbacks and dissatisfaction, as the Tynamo Community Day was riddled with the usual problem of many features not functioning properly. A recent post in the r/TheSilphRoad subreddit shows how a lot of the features were not working as intended for the Community Day events. One user u/blackmetro responded, writing:

"How are they still messing up community day? It happens at least once a month."

Niantic events being rather buggy are neither new nor surprising. In recent times, the Mega Rayquaza Elite Raids had many users face issues, which prompted the company to host a makeup event in August for Mega Rayquaza yet again.

According to the OP, u/jmledesma, there were several issues with the Tynamo Community Day. The user mentioned:

"Tynamo Community Day has 2 reported issues in early regions: • 4x Catch XP is not correctly applied to the ‘Pokémon Caught’ XP. All other XP awards, like Nice, Great, Excellent Throws, and Curveballs, are correct. • Tynamo is not available from Photobombs. It’s spawning Smeagle."

Pokemon GO Community Days allow players to catch some unique critters while also farming a significant amount of EXP to get their trainer level up. While such problems can still be dismissed for events that happen once in a while, Community Day events take place every month.

The occurrence of bugs and glitches isn't outlandish, but the fact that players facing issues in arguably the most common event in a game that has been out for quite a while is surprising indeed. This has been noted by u/RODjij:

"Almost a 10 year old phone game and they still have these kind of issues regularly."

For one user u/AutisticPenguin2, spawn points were also bugged out for a considerable amount of time, till they were suddenly overflowing with Tynamo. This event also raises several questions about Niantic's internal workings, since almost all events face some issue or the other.

While many users were quick to jump on the bandwagon and criticize Niantic's workings, it is unlikely that a simple weekend "production push" is the root of the problems.

Niantic supposedly fixed these issues with the Pokemon GO Tynamo Community Day, as reported by u/LeekDuck_ on the same post:

"Update: The issues were resolved ahead of the start of Community Day in New Zealand."

Although the sheer volume of bugs and glitches from Nintendo might cause dissatisfaction among trainers, we should appreciate the beta testers who meticulously look for these existing bugs and report them ahead of the global launches.
