Pokedex Entry | Normal Form Cobalion, Terrakion, and Virizion taught this Pokémon how to fight. It dashes across the world, seeking more opportunities to further its training. They say that Keldeo must survive harsh battles and fully develop the horn on its forehead before this Pokémon's true power will awaken. Resolute Form Keldeo has strengthened its resolve for battle, filling its body with power and changing its form. The power that lay hidden in its body now covers its horn, turning it into a sword that can slice through anything. |

Appearance
Keldeo is a small, horse-like Pokemon with a cream colored body and blue fur around its neck and tail. On its head is a horn, the same shade as its body, and two dark blue, spiked protrusions above its eyes. The top of its head is covered in a large feathery red mane.
Behavior
Keldeo is dissimilar to the other members of the Swords of Justice but has trained under them as a pupil. In this training, Keldeo travels all over the world and is able to walk on water, doing this by ejecting water from the bottom of its hooves. Keldeo has a hidden power which when released changes its form, attitude, and grows its horn to be more useful in battle.
Strengths and Weaknesses
Like many mythical and legendary dual types, Keldeo’s water/fighting typing gives it a variety of special matchups. It is resistant to and takes half damage from seven types including rock, bug, steel, fire, water, ice, and dark type moves. It is weak to flying, grass, electric, psychic and fairy type moves and takes double damage from them.
Shiny Keldeo
Shiny Keldeo is the rare, recolored form of Keldeo and Shiny Keldeo changes little from its normal form. Shiny Keldeo now has green fur as well as a lighter red mane.
Best Movesets for Keldeo
Keldeo’s speed and special attack are its high points and with high speed, it has the ability to be a good set-up Pokemon. With Calm Mind, it can double or triple its damage easily and use whatever move it wants to sweep opponents.
Calm Mind | Secret Sword |
Scald | Taunt |
Offensive: Keldeo can really do some damage on its own, especially when given Choice Specs to boost its damage. This may restrict its moves but with strong moves like Hydro Pump and Secret Sword combined with Icy Wind, to slow down enemies, it makes it a lethal attacking Pokemon.
Hydro Pump | Scald |
Secret Sword | Icy Wind |
How to Catch Keldeo in Pokemon Go
Keldeo does not yet appear in Pokemon Go but its data is fully in the game and is ready for release. Due to its mythical categorization, it's likely that Keldeo will be obtained through either research rewards or through a special event.

Conclusion
Keldeo was pushed as an iconic mythical Pokemon upon release and while it was known, it is remembered very little. The biggest thing it's done since its big release is appearing in Sword and Shield’s Crown Tundra DLC. However it is still a notable Pokemon, not just because it’s a mythical type but also because it’s a good Pokemon in general, especially when used properly.
