Kirlia Pokémon

Last Modified Jul 15, 2021 11:49 GMT

The Gardevoir line is one well known for a number of reasons but with Kirlia stuck in the middle, it is known as a fairly popular psychic/fairy type Pokemon but not as much as its final evolution.

Appearance

Kirlia Appearance

Kirlia is a green, humanoid Pokemon which looks like it's wearing a white tutu. Its limbs are thin and long and it has bands of green draped from its head that looks like hair. On the top of its head are two flat red horns with large, red eyes visible on either side of the hair that covers its face.

Behavior

Kirlia Pokemon Go

Kirla is a very strong psychic Pokemon and it uses its two red horns to amplify its power. The sheer power it creates can distort the air and create mirages. More mundanely, Kirlia loves to dance and will dance in the mornings and its dancing grows better when it is done for a trainer it cares about.

Strengths and Weaknesses

The psychic/fairy typing is a rather strong one but it can be hurt by a lot of different Pokemon. It is immune to dragon type moves and resistant to psychic and fighting type moves, taking half damage from the former and quarter damage from the latter. However, it is weak to poison, ghost, and steel type moves and takes double damage from them.

Best Movesets for Kirlia

Offensive Support: Kirlia is not a great attacker but is capable of dealing some good damage. especially in double battles. It can deal double damage and it can also keep its partner healthy with Heal Pulse.

How to Catch Kirlia in Pokemon Go

In Pokemon Go, Kirlia evolves from Ralts when given 25 Ralts candy. This is not a lot but if you want the next evolution, either Gardevoir or Gallade, you will need 100 extra Ralts candy. Ralts can be found among other psychic type Pokemon near beaches and in grasslands. Once 25 Ralts candy is obtained by capturing them or walking with one as a buddy, a Ralts can be evolved into Kirlia.

Trivia

  2. Kirlia, along with its evolutionary line, which are in both the Amorphous and Human-Like Egg Groups.
  3. Kirlia is the Emotion Pokemon, the same category as Mespret and Indeedee.

FAQs

Can a male Kirlia evolve into a Gardevoir?

A male Kirlia can evolve into Gallade when exposed to a Dawn Stone, however if it is not given one before it reaches its evolution level, it can still evolve into Gardevoir.

Is Gardevoir or Gallade better?

While both are strong, Gardevoir falls short in generalized situations. It is very specialized and while it is more powerful than Gallade in the situations it shines in, Gallade can outperform it in more general situations due to its access to a wide variety of moves.

Conclusion

While Kirlia is not the well known member of its evolutionary line, it is important. It can be useful in battle as a powerful glass cannon and can become an incredible Pokemon after it evolves. Given time and effort, this small dancer can gain the great power of two different Pokemon.
