Appearance
Lairon is a small, stocky, armored Pokémon that stands on four stubby legs. Its body is a mix of dark grey and white with black dots on its armored head and back. The armor on Lairon’s back are in segments, resembling large, pointy scales. In addition, Lairon wears two pronged armor cuffs on each of its legs, one in the same grey as its body and the other in white.
Behavior
When in battle, Lairon uses its armored body to smash against opponents. It also shows off its strength by ramming into rocks and causing large sparks. It lives in mountainous regions where iron ore is buried, so that it can feed on the iron. However, this also results in conflicts with humans who are iron mining.
Strengths and Weaknesses
Lairon is extremely weak to Fighting and Ground-type Pokémon, taking four times as much damage as normal when fighting them. It also takes twice as much damage from water types but is immune to Poison types. It is strong against Normal and Flying-type Pokémon, taking only a quarter of the normal damage, and is resistant to Rock, Bug, Psychic, Ice, Dragon, and Fairy-types, which may only deal half of the normal amount of damage to Lairon.
Best moveset
Lairon has a lot of strong moves, including Superpower, which is a move that has 120 power and 100% accuracy. Here are Lairon’s best moves. Superpower lowers the user’s attack and defense by 1, Double-Edge has a 33% recoil while Earthquake hits adjacent Pokémon and does double damage on Dig. Finally, Head Smash has 150% power and 80% accuracy, and has ½ recoil.

How to catch Lairon in Pokemon Go?
Lairon can spawn in industrial areas, quarries, hiking trails and nature reserves. Aron can spawn in similar areas as well as in parking lots. Snowy weather will boost steel types, so Lairon can be found more commonly during that weather. It evolves from Aron at 25 candies and will evolve into Aggron at 100 candies. Aron, Lairon and Aggron have all been raid bosses in the past, too. Lairon and Aron can spawn in the wild while Aggron typically does not.
Trivia
- Lairon may be based on Bulgasari which is a monster that eats iron in Korean legends. There was a film made about it which has inspired the look of Lairon.
- Lairon’s body is similar to the Placerias, a mammal-like synapsid from the Triassic period.
- Lairon is a combination of the words lair and iron, which is fitting for a steel type Pokemon.

Conclusion
Lairon is a good Pokemon to look for. Aggron is one of the biggest and strongest Pokemon players can find, which makes all evolutionary forms a great addition to the team. Its base stat total is really high for a Pokemon that is not in its final form, rivaling many fully evolved Pokemon. It has a really strong moveset, too, making it a great addition in any game.
