Appearance
Meltan is made almost entirely of molten metal which can move to form many different shapes but usually takes on the rough shape of a body. Its head is a hexagonal nut with a small black sphere hovering inside of it, looking almost like the pupil of an eye.
Behavior
Meltan is a very old Pokemon and its metal body can melt and absorb other metals. Absorbing these metals fills it with electric energy that it can fire from its eye. Meltan often live in packs, with large groups of Meltan acting like family and supporting each other.
Strengths and Weaknesses
Meltan is a pure steel type so its typing is pretty strong. It's completely immune to poison type moves and the poisoned status. It is strong against normal, flying, rock, bug, steel, grass, psychic, ice, dragon, and fairy type moves and takes only half damage from them. It's only weak to fighting, ground, and fire type moves and takes double damage from them. This leaves only 4 types which deal normal damage to Meltan.
Shiny Meltan
Shiny Meltan is the rare, recolored version of Meltan. Shiny Meltan has very little change from its normal form. A Shiny Meltan has its hexagon head colored a bit darker than a normal Meltan and that's about it.
Best Moveset for Meltan
Support Set: Meltan is a very defensive Pokemon and can learn a number of supportive moves. This makes it ideal for buffing its defense with Acid Armor and afflicting the opponent with problems for as long as possible. This is best done with Thunder Wave to ensure the opponent is always paralyzed and Flash Cannon to do damage but more importantly lower the opponent’s special defense stat.

How to Catch Meltan in Pokemon Go
Meltan is caught by using an item called a Mystery Box. After using this item, Meltan will begin to appear in the wild only for the user of the Box. This effect only last for 30 minutes and if the user wants to get Melmetal they may have to use more than one Mystery Box.
