Meowstic is a Pokemon which heavily uses the game's gender system as it effectively has two separate forms. While both are psychic types, each form looks very different, battles differently and even have different Pokedex entries with different descriptions.

Appearance
Meowstic have common characteristics as well as gender specific characteristics. All Meowstic are feline Pokemon that stand on their hind legs and they have folded ears as well as a set of two tails. They all also have tufts of fur around their necks as well as on the tops of their heads. The male Meowstics are mostly dark blue but the tips of their tails, ears and limbs are white with the tufts of fur also white. Furthermore, they have green eyes while the Female version has yellow eyes but the rest of a Female Meowstics is effectively inverted. They have a white colour palette with the tips of their arms and legs as well as their fur tufts are dark blue with a dark blue tail as well.
Behavior
Meowstic have incredible psychic power. Under its folded ears are eye-like organs which release its psychic powers and it’s strong enough to destroy a truck just from the energy it releases. Female Meowstic are rather unfriendly, tending to be selfish and cold while the male are the opposite.
Strengths and Weaknesses
Meowstic is a pure psychic type so remember, ‘fear is the mindkiller,’ and common fears are its weakness. It is weak to bug, ghost, and dark type moves and takes double damage from them. But they are resistant to fighting and psychic type moves and thus take only half damage from them.
Shiny Meowstic
Shiny Meowstic is the rare, recolored version of Meowstic. While the overall change in the look of Shiny Meowstic is apparent, they actually only have one difference. Shiny Meowstic has the same changes between both genders and changes the dark blue coloring from a normal Meowstic to a bright, yellow gold color.

Special Sweeper: Meowstic is very fast and Female Meowstic learns many strong special moves even if it isn’t the strongest special attacker. However, it can make up for that with Calm Mind and can dish out lots of scary damage.

Male Meowstic
Dual Screens: Male Meowstic are not as effective as an attacker but its high speed stat means it can be effective in using Light Screen and Reflect which makes it a good support Pokemon. It also learns a lot more support moves like Yawn and Thunder Wave as well as has access to the Prankster ability which solidifies it as more supportive than its female counterpart.

How to Catch Meowstic in Pokemon Go
Meowstic in Pokemon Go evolves from Espurr when it is given 50 Espurr candy and thus this means searching for as many Espurr as possible. They tend to appear in residential areas at night, near hospitals, and in grassy areas. When evolving Espurr, it will evolve into a different form of Meowstic depending on its gender so if you want both forms you’ll need double the candy and both a male and female Espurr.

- During Google’s 2014 April Fools day event, Meowstic’s different forms had two different dex numbers, whereas normally they have the same dex number but with separate entries.
- Meowstic are similar to Indeedee, who also have both having male and female forms with the male form being exclusive to Pokemon Sword and the female versions being exclusive to Pokemon Shield.
- Meowstic has a base stat total of 466 and is the only Pokemon with this total.
