Appearance of Meowth
Meowth looks like a cat standing on its hind legs. Though Meowth can be seen walking and running on four legs, it typically stands and walks on two legs. As a result, its forelegs have grown longer and function as arms. Meowth has white fur and brown rear paws. Its tail curls tightly at the end and has a brown tip. Meowth’s ears are black, and it has six long whiskers: two stick out from each side of its face, and two stick out from above its eyes. At the center of its forehead, it mounts a freshly polished coin as a keepsake.
Shiny Meowth has brown fur with pink accents.
Behavior of Meowth
Meowth loves shiny things: especially coins. It inhabits urban areas and commonly wanders city streets at night in search of loose change. Meowth is typically jealous, selfish, and cold., but it has been known to bond closely with trainers from time to time. The Team Rocket Meowth that travels with Jesse and James was smart enough to teach itself human speech; however, it appears to be the only Meowth that has done so.
Strengths and Weaknesses
Meowth’s Normal typing gives it immunity to Ghost-type moves. However, Meowth is weak at Fighting-type moves.
Meowth’s high Speed and Attack make it a fast physical attacker.
Shiny Meowth
Shiny Meowth doesn’t stand out as much as other Shiny Pokémon because it has a color pattern only slightly different from normal Meowth. Shiny Meowth swaps its cream-colored fur and brown highlights for light brown fur and pink highlights. This subtle palette swap makes it easy to overlook Shiny Meowth in Pokémon collections and battles.
Galarian Meowth
Galarian Meowth is a Steel-type cat Pokémon known for its love of battle. It is fierce and aggressive and doesn’t usually get along with Kantonian Meowth. While Meowth’s Kantonian and Alolan forms favor Speed, Galarian Meowth has a high Defense stat and Steel typing, which makes it a sturdy Pokémon in battle.
Galarian Meowth has hard, dark brown fur and a large beard that is as hard as iron, along with small horns on top of its head. The tips of its horns and tail are black, and it also has sharp black claws, black toes on its hind paws, and black ears.
Shiny Galarian Meowth swaps its brown fur for cream-colored fur like Kantonian Meowth.
Galarian Meowth’s Steel typing gives it a good defense against Normal, Grass, Ice, Flying, Psychic, Bug, Rock, Dragon, Steel, and Fairy-type moves, and immunity to Poison-type moves. However, Galarian Meowth is weak to Fire, Fighting, and Ground-type moves.
Galarian Meowth’s high Attack and Defense make it a tough physical attacker.
Galarian Meowth evolves into Perrserker at level 28.
Alolan Meowth
Alolan Meowth is a Dark-type cat Pokémon that was once kept as a pet by Alolan royalty. It is even more vain and vindictive than its Kantonian counterparts due to the life of luxury it once led. It keenly analyzes and exploits its foes’ weaknesses in battle.
Alolan Meowth has pale gray fur and a slender, delicate body, and it usually walks on its hind legs. It has black ears, and the tips of its hind paws and tail are white.
Shiny Alolan Meowth swaps its gray fur and white feet and tail for blue fur and a purple tail and feet.
Alolan Meowth’s Dark typing gives it a good defense against Ghost and Dark-type moves, and immunity to Psychic-type moves. However, Alolan Meowth is weak to Fighting, Bug, and Fairy-type moves.
Alolan Meowth’s high Special Attack and Speed make it a fast special attacker.
Alolan Meowth evolves into Alolan Persian when it levels up while at high friendship.
Gigantamax Meowth
Gigantamax Meowth is a Normal-type Gigantamax Pokémon that has been seen sharpening its claws on skyscrapers as it stomps through the city.
Gigantamax Meowth keeps its Kantonian coloration, but it adopts a strange symbol on its forehead coin and its torso gets extremely long. Gigantamax Meowth has yellow eyes with no pupils.
Gigantamax Meowth is currently the only Pokémon that can use the move G-Max Gold Rush.
Team Rocket Meowth
The Team Rocket Meowth is one of the most well-known Pokémon from the Pokémon anime. It has traveled with Jesse and James ever since season one of the Pokémon anime, and it has been in most Pokémon movies. The Team Rocket Meowth even appears in some of the games alongside Jesse and James. The Team Rocket Meowth can speak fluently with both humans and Pokémon, and it has a bit of rivalry with Ash’s Pikachu.
