Appearance

Minior have two forms; its meteor form and its core. After the outer shell of the meteor form breaks, the core of this Pokemon is exposed. These cores can be of different colours, namely Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, and Violet. Each Minior will have a different core colour and can’t change colours.

The outer shell of this Pokemon is entirely brown and it resembles a star that has five ends sticking out, all pointy. It has darker brown triangular markings all over the outer shell as well. After this shell breaks, the core of this Pokemon is exposed. It retains the structure of the outer shell, but is much lighter and smaller. It starts glowing and has swirly eyes with darker triangular patterns all over the body.

Behavior

Minior are formed in the Ozone Layer and live there until their strangely durable outer cover grows too strong for them to stay there, causing them to fall. Some Minior fall due to being preyed on by other Pokemon looking for food while in the Ozone. Upon falling, the shield of this Pokemon is smashed, which leaves the core exposed. The colour of the core is dependent on the food it eats, which is the dirt in the atmosphere. What kind of dirt is what specifically decides the colour. Exposing the core of a Minior for too long can cause its death by disintegrating into the atmosphere.

Strengths and Weaknesses

Minior is a dual Rock and Flying type Pokemon and is thus weak to Rock, Steel, Water, Electric and Ice type moves. On the other hand, it is resistant to Normal, Flying, Poison, Bug and Fire type moves. However, because of its flying type, it is immune to ground type moves, which would otherwise be super effective.

Best moveset

With access to Shell Smash, this Pokemon can be the perfect Pokemon to be a sweeper, especially after taking damage and switching to the core exposed form which gains even more speed and attack. After giving it a White Herb, not only can you eliminate defense loss to an extent, but also enable Acrobatics and deal twice as much damage. Earthquake can be used to obliterate Electric types, one of the biggest threats to this Pokemon. Stone Edge has a STAB just like Acrobatics, so if you run across a fire type, Stone Edge can take care of it.

How to catch Minior in Pokemon Go?

This Pokemon is not yet available in the game.

Trivia

  1. Although Minor disintegrates upon exposing the core, it can still be saved by providing it with an alternative core. One such example of a core is a Pokeball, which prevents the disintegration of this Pokemon.
  2. Minior have a connection with Cleffa, both seeming to hang around with each other.
  3. Shiny Minior all share the same colour.

FAQs

Does Rayquaza eat Minior?

Minior is food for Pokemon that live in the atmosphere. So it is highly possible that Rayquaza does indeed eat these Pokemon

Where is minior in Pokemon moon?

Minior can be found in Mount Hokulani in both Pokemon Sun and Pokemon Moon.

Does minior evolve?

Minor does not evolve. However, upon having its HP reduced to less than 50%, it’s shell breaks and it turns into the core exposed form.

Conclusion

Minior, despite being food for Pokemon in the Atmosphere, can turn around and eat the Pokemon that tries to eat it with proper training. With an incredibly high defense during the meteor form, this Pokemon can set up shell smash without any worries. Upon reaching the core exposed form, this Pokemon turns into a glass cannon which can instantly knock out any Pokemon upon receiving almost twice the damage and speed. This combined with shell smashes can obliterate almost anything that stands in its way.
