Appearance
Mudbray is a brown, donkey-like Pokemon that is quadrupedal and has a dark brown coat. Its underbelly is cream colored with circular markings on each cheek. It also has long, brown, pointed ears that have pink insides with a short black tail and a short black mane.
Behavior
Mudbray is happiest when it is given time to frolic and roll in the mud. Its diet consists solely of eating dirt to create more mud. It has immense strength and can carry loads up to 50 times its own weight. Mud that collects around its hooves increases its strength and balance.
Strengths and Weaknesses
As a Ground type Pokémon, Mudbray is weak against Water, Grass and Ice type moves, and takes twice the normal damage from them. It is immune to Electric type Pokemon and is resistant to Poison and Rock types, which will do half the damage. There is no advantage or disadvantage with Normal, Steel, Fighting, Fire, Flying, Dragon, Ground, Psychic, Fairy, Dark, Ghost and Bug types.
Best moveset
Mudbray has a lot of strong moves including Superpower, which is a move that has 110 power and 70% accuracy. Here are Mudbray’s best moves; Superpower lowers the user’s Attack and Defense by 1, Payback has 50 power but it doubles if the user moves after the target. On the other hand, Low Sweep has 100% accuracy and 100% chance to lower the target’s speed by 1 while Earthquake has 100 damage and hits adjacent Pokemon. It also does double damage on Dig.

Payback | Earthquake |
How to catch Mudbray in Pokemon Go?
Mudbray (and Mudsdale) is currently not in Pokemon Go as curiously, Niantic has (at least temporarily) skipped over Generation VII. All Generations up through VI have been added and more recently, Generation VIII and the Galarian forms of other Pokemon have been added as well. Alolan forms of some Pokemon have made it but no Pokemon that first appeared in Alola are in the game right now. They will likely eventually make it, but haven’t yet.
Trivia
- Mudbray has a 5% chance of holding the Light Clay, but it actually can’t learn the moves Light Screen or Reflect.
- Mudbray is a combination of the words mud and bray, which is the cry of a donkey.
FAQs
How big is Mudbray?
Mudbray is a fairly hefty Pokemon, which makes sense since it is based on a donkey. It stands 3’03 and weighs 242.5 pounds. For comparison, Mudsdale is huge. It stands 8’02 and weighs a whopping 2028.3 pounds, making one of the heaviest Pokemon.
Is Mudbray in Pokemon Sword and Shield?
Yes, Mudbray and Mudsdale made the cut for Pokemon Sword and Shield. You can find and catch Mudbray in East Lake Axewell with a 60% chance to appear during Intense Sun weather. It evolves into Mudsdale at level 30.
Is there a shiny Mudbray?
Yes. The shiny Mudbray trades out the brown color that it has for its coat and replaces it with a yellow shade.
Is Mudbray in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl?
No, Mudbray was not introduced by the time Diamond and Pearl came out, so the remakes don’t feature it, either.
Conclusion
Mudbray is a really good offensive Pokemon to have. It has stellar attack stats as well as a really strong moveset. It’s not terribly fast or great at defense but if attacking is the game, then Mudbray and Mudsdale are must haves. Overall, it has really good base stat totals and Mudsdale is a massive Pokemon and hard to beat.
