Appearance

Naganadel is an Ultra Beast with both dragon and insect-like characteristics. Its upper body is very slim, with slender arms and a long neck. The upper part of the chest, neck, head, and arms of Naganadel are lavender, its waist is dark purple, and there are purple-red stripes on each side. Each shoulder has a long gray spike, and each hand has three purple-pink claws. A dark purple stripe extends down from both sides of its neck, connecting and forming a ring on Naganadel’s chest.

The lower area of this ring is purple-red in color, with a small downward spread in the middle. The end of its long neck is its head, and its upper part has a long spike. There are a pair of curved gray spikes on either side of its mouth, which act like jaws. Its bright cyan eyes are one-piece, bordered with purple-red rims and have a pointed crest on each side, making them look like masks.

A pair of lavender wings sprouted from the center of Naganadel’s back. These wings have a fuchsia claw at the joint, two beaks on the arm, and a deep purple membrane with fuchsia markings near its beak.

Behavior

Naganadel's lower body is its brain and it resembles a bloated wasp belly filled with poison with it covered in light purple and dark purple stripes, with three hollow stingers at the tip. The stinger is gray with purple-red markings around it. Naganadel’s largest stinger is in the center, while the other two are much smaller, sitting on either side. These stingers are connected to Naganadel’s brain, so if you touch the stinger, it will react violently towards you. Its main stinger can expel a glowing adhesive poison over a distance of at least six miles. In the anime, Naganadel is shown to be capable of communicating with humans through telepathy and showing them scenes from the past.

Strengths and Weaknesses

As an Ultra Beast, Naganadel has high stats resembling those of a legendary Pokemon, with especially high special attack and speed stats. But all its other stats are all equal or rather not as comparatively high. Furthermore, as a dual dragon and poison-type Pokemon, Nagagadel is weak to ground, psychic, ice, and dragon-type moves and is resistant to fighting, poison, bug, fire, water, and electric-type moves, taking half the normal damage. It is also resistant against grass type moves and takes a quarter the normal damage from them.

Best moveset

Naganadel has been able to carve itself a niche on offensive teams as a sweeper thanks to its good offensive typing. That combined with its access to the moves like Nasty Plot and its Fire-type coverage makes Naganadel a real offensive threat. Also its high base speed stat plus with its ability Beast Boost gives Naganadel the ability to get speed boosts and minimize the adverse effects of its mediocre defence.

Draco Meteor is its highest STAB (same-type attack bonus) move for dealing heavy damage. Sludge Wave is another STAB move, with the added bonus of dealing status effects, along with the move Fire Blast, which also can deal status effects and serves as type coverage. Finally, Nasty Plot boosts its special attack stat to allow it to serve as a sweeper and in order to make up for the lowered special attack that results from Draco Meteor.
