Mega Lucario Pokemon GO debut teased

Mega Lucario is likely finally arriving in Pokemon GO, with Niantic teasing the mega evolved variant of the Aura Pokemon on the game's official X channel. The Gen IV Fighting- and Steel-type pocket monster is a fan-favorite among the community.

Mega Lucario will likely arrive in July 2024 at the last event in this month's Pokemon GO roadmap. We expect more details to be announced soon by Niantic.

Pokemon GO Mega Lucario debut seems to be taking place in July 2024

Mega Lucario will likely debut in Pokemon GO on July 27, 2024, in Ultra Unlock Part 3: Mega Raid Day. The same was revealed in an X post, where Niantic shared a silhouetted figure of the mega evolved Aura Pokemon with the caption:

"What Pokémon do you think will be featured in the Ultra Unlock Mega Raid Day event?"

Given the answer was obvious once you take a look at the accompanying picture, the community dropped hilarious guesses underneath the post, like Pikachu and Mega Tirtouga.

Apart from being one of the most popular Pokemon among the community, Mega Lucario's Fighting/Steel-type combination will provide trainers with a viable raid attacker. Furthermore, no one can deny that a Shiny Mega Lucario is a thing of beauty with a neon green focus.

Trainers are currently enjoying the GO Fest 2024 Global event, with Ultra Beasts and Necrozma taking over the proceedings. Day 1 saw various habitat rotations and the arrival of the Marshadow Special Research questline for ticket-holding players. Day 2 will focus on Necrozma Fusions, with Niantic already having provided free Pokemon GO promo codes for Fusion Energy.
