Pokemon GO Toxtricity and Toxel release date revealed

Pokemon GO Toxtricity and its base form Toxel's release date has been confirmed by Niantic in a blog post from October 1, 2024. These creatures will debut during the WIld Area event in Fukuoka, Japan, on November 16, and will be available globally on November 23, 2024.

Wild Area is the latest event category in Niantic's mobile game and is designed to follow the likes of GO Fest and GO Tour. While it is supposed to push players to explore generally unexplored areas, the addition of Toxel and Toxtricity to the release lineups makes this a highly anticipated event among the player base.

Pokemon GO Toxtricity and Toxel will debut during the Wild Area event in November 2024

Toxel and Toxtricity in Pokemon GO are Poison- and Electric-type creatures. The former is a Baby Pokemon and will be available only via event-themed 10 km Eggs at release.

Getting your hands on Toxtricity—both the Amped and Low Key forms—will be easier, as it will take over Gyms as a 4-star raid boss. With a double weakness to Ground-type attacks, it should be a fairly easy fight for most active trainers.

Additionally, both of Toxtricity's forms in Pokemon GO will get their Dynamax release on the same day. The tier of Max Battles has not been confirmed yet, but it is expected that they will either be of 3-star or 5-star difficulty, at least.

Can Pokemon GO Toxtricity and Toxel be shiny?

It has been confirmed by the blogpost that Pokemon GO Toxtricity and Toxel can be shiny upon release. This is a slightly unusual situation, albeit one that is bound to be appreciated by the community as these are some of the most-anticipated Gen VIII 'mons.

Since neither of them will be wild spawns at release, they are likely to have 1-in-64 shiny odds, based on past trends.
