Appearance

Nidoqueen Appearance

Nidoqueen is a large Pokemon that closely resembles a reptile, mainly due to the several reptilian features. Armored to the teeth, it has plates of armor almost all over its body, both in cream and blue. With three claws on each hand, Nidoqueen also has horns and spines running along its back, all capable of secreting toxins to paralyze attackers. Not only that, it has wide ears along the side of the head with them round and are a shade of dark brown

Behavior

Nidoqueen is a motherly Pokemon, as it wants nothing more than to protect its children. Their thick armor makes them invulnerable to virtually every attack. It’s why Nidoqueen is more defensive than offensive, with it strongest when protecting its children and doing whatever it takes to keep them safe. Due to how they are evolved with an evolution stone, Nidoqueens are rare to find in the wild.

Strengths and Weaknesses

Sporting excellent stats all around, Nidoqueen in particular excels at defense. With a high health pool and good defensive stats, it’s all but certain that this Pokemon can endure several hits. And while it may not prioritize offense, Nidoqueen can still pack a punch. Being a Ground Poison type, it is resistant to Fighting, Poison, Rock, Bug and Fairy type moves, and immune to Electric types. However be wary of Ground, Psychic, Ice, and Water moves, as those moves can easily whittle away Nidoqueens’s health.

Best Moveset for Nidoqueen

Stealth RockEarth Power
Ice BeamToxic

This moveset focuses on debuffing your opponent so they don’t even get the chance to attack. Stealth Rock injures enemy Pokemon upon entry and thus makes for a nice trap, Earth Power has the chance to lower your opponent’s Special Defense by one while Ice Beam has the chance to freeze your target. Finally, Toxic badly poisons your opponent, a move that never misses due to Nidoqueen being a poison type.

Shiny Nidoqueen

Shiny Nidoqueen

With it hard to aquire, finding a Shiny Nidoqueen is tricky as it is tough to track down. The main difference between a normal and Shiny Nidoqueen is obvious, as Shiny Nidoqueen’s main color changes from blue to green, while its plating switches to a light pink. To get a Shiny Nidoqueen of your own, you’ll have to hope for the best in the wild, hatch one from an egg, or, the easier way, find someone willing to trade one. Like all shiny Pokemon, Shiny Nidoqueen gains a starry animation upon entering battle.

How to catch Nidoqueen in Pokemon Go?

Nidoqueen is an easy Pokemon to catch in Pokemon Go. All you need to do is walk for a while, and its predecessor Nidoran♀ should appear relatively close by. As it’s a weaker Pokemon, you won’t have to worry about berries or using Great or Ultra balls. A well tossed Pokeball should do the trick in catching Nidoran, then it’s just a matter of catching and collecting enough candy to move up the evolution line.

Trivia

  1. Nidoqueen can mega evolve
  2. Nidoqueen is an all female species
  3. Nidoqueen can only be evolved with an evolution stone.
