Appearance

Oranguru is based on an Orangutan and a Guru, which roughly translates to master/sage. It mainly resembles an Orangutan with white fur and a purple cape on its back. It is always seen carrying a fan made of leaf around with the fan held together by the same material as the cape. The fan is made out of its own fur. Oranguru has a golden star on its forehead and a long beard, with yellow eyes that have a black iris.

Behavior

Oranguru are extremely intelligent Pokemon only suited for veteran trainers. It looks down on others and is even capable of commanding other Pokemon as well. However, these Pokemon are not as cold hearted as they may come across as. If they spot an injured Pokemon, they immediately get to work, as they know the forest inside out. It will gather medicinal herbs and with its expertise, it can heal these Pokemon. Despite being intelligent, they do not get along with other Oranguru. It can always be seen engaging in battles with each other to see who is stronger in terms of wits. These Pokemon love battle of wits so much that it travels from Jungle to the Beaches to meet with Slowking to match wits with it.

Strengths and Weaknesses

Oranguru is a dual Normal and Psychic type and thus is weak to Bug and Dark type moves. On the other hand this Pokemon resists Psychic type moves and in addition, due to its Normal type, it is immune to Ghost type moves, which would otherwise be super effective.

Best moveset

Oranguru, despite having all that brains, finds a hard time fitting into a tier in Smogon. However, with enough set up, this Pokemon can be incredibly strong. The downside is that this Pokemon requires a lot of set up and will be outclassed by other Pokemon which need less.
