Appearance
Pancham is a small, bipedal Pokemon that closely resembles a panda and has the black and white coloring of a panda. Its ears are black and the rest of its head is white and furry with a tuft of fur sticking off the top of its head. Pancham also has a black torso with its lower body is grey with a white tail. It has a green leaf type thing sticking out of its mouth while it’s eyes are big and surrounded by a thin ring of black fur.
Behavior
Pancham looks up to Pangoro, its evolved form, and makes it its master. It tries to emulate Pangoro and learns how to hunt, kill prey and eat to survive from it. However, while a Pancham attempts to look vicious and angry, it’s small stature and generally cute nature derail that attempt. It will grin if it gets distracted from trying to look mean and will also grin if patted on the head. A Pancham is aggressive in the wild as a result of learning from Pangoro and will track down trainers to force them to engage.
Strengths and Weaknesses
Pancham is weak to Flying, Psychic and Fairy type Pokemon and these will do twice as much damage to Pancham. It is not immune to anything but is resistant to Rock, Bug and Dark type Pokemon. These types will only do half the damage when fighting Pancham and it is also strong against Normal, Rock, Steel, Ice and Dark types.
Best moveset (Pancham)
Pancham has a lot of strong moves including Focus Punch, which is a move that has 150 power and 100% accuracy. Here are Pancham’s best moves: Focus Punch will fail if Pancham takes damage before the move hits, Superpower lowers its opponents Attack and Defense by 1. Body Slam has a 30% chance to paralyze the target and Gunk Shot has a 30% chance to poison the target.

How to catch Pancham in Pokemon Go?
Pancham can be found in areas that are under cloudy weather, as this type of weather will increase the chances of Pancham spawning. It has a 30% spawn rate but it also hatches out of 12 km eggs or strange eggs, which are only given by defeating Team Go Rocket leaders or Giovani himself. It will evolve into Pangoro at 50 candies and after catching 32 Dark Pokemon with Pancham as your buddy Pokemon.
Trivia
- Pancham shares its category with Monferno. They are known as the Playful Pokemon, which would probably upset it since it tries to be mean like Pangoro.
- Pancham is based on a giant panda and the shiny version may be based on Qinling pandas, which has a brown colour palette.
- Pancham may be a combination of the words panda, punch and champion.
FAQs
What does Pancham do?
Pancham tries to intimidate opponents with its trademark leaf hanging out of its mouth and an intense glare. It is usually unsuccessful, after all, it is the Playful Pokemon.
Is there a female Pancham?
Yes, there are both male and female Panchams but they both evolve into Pangoro. Both Pancham and Pangoro are not gender specific Pokemon.
Is Pancham available in Raid Battles?
Not typically. During an event period it was a part of several Raid Battles, but typically it isn’t and can be found or hatched from the strange eggs from defeating Team Go Rocket leaders.
Does Pokemon Go have a shiny Pancham?
No. There is a shiny Pancham but Pokemon Go does not currently have that. However, other games, like Sword and Shield, do.
Is Pancham a dual type?
No, but being a Fighting type Pokemon opens Pancham up to a good amount of moves. Both Pancham and Pangoro are considered good Pokemon to have, despite being only one type.
Conclusion
Pancham is a great but somewhat rare Pokemon. They’re not super rare in games but in Pokemon Go they only spawn in cloudy areas at 30% spawn rate or are hatched from 12km eggs. These are hard to come by because that’s the most walking that can be done for an egg and they only come from defeating Team Go Rocket leaders. Pangoro can only be evolved with 50 candies and 32 found Dark types while Pancham is the buddy Pokemon.
