Appearance
Pansage is based on a monkey and resembles a tree with its body primarily green and cream in colour. The upper half of its face and its shoulders are entirely in green and it has large ears, which are also green. The insides of the ear are of a lighter shade of the same. It’s head resembles a broccoli, which also acts as hair; a tuft made of leaf to be precise. The Pokemon is bipedal and has a tail with the edge of the tail is in the shape of a leaf and is green as well. It has white eyes with black iris and its mouth is in a w shape and looks as if it is smiling.
Behavior
This Pokemon is a gatherer by nature and it goes around collecting berries and storing them. It is in your best interest to be friends with a Pansage because it is not one bit hesitant to share these berries with you. It also has a tuft made of leaves on its head and eating this leaf immediately relieves stress. This Pokemon offers these leaves to other Pokemon which seem to be stressed and even eat some by itself when it is stressed.
Strengths and Weaknesses
Pansage is a Grass type Pokemon and is thus weak to Fire, Flying, Poison, Ice and Bug type moves. However, while it has no immunities, it is resistant to Water, Ground, Grass and Electric type moves.
Best moveset
While outclassed by Snivy who has Contrary, Pansage is still pretty strong in LC. It can be a strong physical attacker with a life orb thanks to its strong movepool.
Always lead with Knock Off as it will remove any item that the opponent is holding and that is beneficial in most cases. Bullet Seed can be pretty powerful as it hits multiple times and stacks with life orb. Gunk Shot is a powerful physical move which can be used for coverage. Finally, Low Sweep is not only a strong move, but also decreases the opponent’s speed, which is always welcome.
Knock Off | Bullet Seed |
Gunk Shot | Low Sweep |

Conclusion
Pansage is an elemental monkey that hops around sharing its berries with other Pokemon. It is hard to dislike such innocence, but is still disliked by a lot of fans due to its bland Pokedex entries as well as design. Pansage is a good option in LC if you have a hard time breeding a contrary Snivy or if you need a physical attacker grass type. It has a strong movepool with moves like Gunk Shot, which can be devastating. If paired with a Life Orb, this Pokemon can easily sweep through an unsuspecting enemy.
