Appearance

Perrserker Appearance

Unlike Persian, Perrserker is a furry, bipedal cat Pokemon. It's mainly brown with black and grey fur and almost armor-like plating, horns, and coin on its head. Its claws are incredibly long now and can be used as knives due to their sharpness and length.

Behavior

Perrserker is known for being a barbaric and violent Pokemon that loves to battle and gets a thrill from fighting opponents. When placed next to its Kanto counterpart Persian, both have a mutual disdain for each other due to the differences in their personalities.

Strengths and Weaknesses

Perrserker is a pure steel type which may seem simple at first but steel is one of the best types in the entire series, even outside a dual typing. It is immune to poison type moves and is resistant to 10 types. It takes half damage from normal, flying, rock, bug, steel, grass, psychic, ice, dragon, and fairy type moves. It is weak to fighting, ground, and fire type moves and takes double damage from them.

Shiny Perrserker

Shiny Perrserker

Shiny Perrserker is the rare recolored form of Perrserker. While the black fur on Shiny Perrserker is unchanged, the rest of its colors are different. Shiny Perrserker has white eyes and brown horns, face fur, and a brown coin. The hands and feet of Shiny Perrserker are also a light cream color.

Galarian Perrserker

Galarian Perrserker is not a real Pokemon, rather it's a misinterpretation of Perrseker’s existence. Galarian Perrserker is just Perrserker as the Pokemon is already its Galarian form as its native to the Galar region. Galarian Perrserker is also not the Galarian form of Persian as Perrserker is a completely different Pokemon from the Kantian Pokemon.

Best Movesets for Perrserker

Offense: Perrserker can take a fair few hits and thanks to its steel typing, you don’t have to worry too much about the opponent’s offensive moves and can instead, fill its set with all out offensive moves like Close Combat and Iron Head.

How to Catch Perrserker in Pokemon Go

Perrserker in Pokemon Go evolves from Galarian Meowth after being given 50 Meowth candy. While Kantian Meowth can be found in the wild, Galarian Meowth can only be found by hatching 7 Km eggs. However it evolves from normal Meowth candy so that candy is much easier to obtain as a normal type Kantian Meowth can be found anywhere.

Trivia

  1. Though Perrserker seems unrelated to Persian, its name seems to be a combination of Persian and berserker.
  2. Perrserker is clearly a cat but is also based on a viking, with its horns on its head and tendency towards violence reflecting the pillaging of the people originally named as Vikings.

FAQs

Is Perrserker a Meowth?

Perrserker looks significantly closer to its pre-evolution than Persian does, making it look like it is simply just a bigger Meowth despite it being a different Pokemon.

Is Perrserker rare Pokemon?

Perrserker may be rare in its use but it is not rare in the games. Its pre-evolution is very common in the wilds area of Sword and Shield.

Conclusion

Perrserker is a somewhat overlooked Pokemon in the newest games. Not just because it's a decent Pokemon but it's a very good Pokemon that is very good in a lot of situations. Despite this it is rarely used just because there are other strong steel types and other good attackers. So before picking another strong steel type attacker, consider trying to use Perrserker instead of Aegislash or Empoleon.
