Pikipek is a Normal/Flying Pokemon that was introduced along with the Alola Region (Generation VII). It is the base form of Toucannon and the pre-evolution of Trumbeak. Pikipek can peck so fast that it can drill holes in trees to store food. The berries it eats provide ammunition by acting as bullets to shoot from its mouth.

Appearance
Pikipek is based on a woodpecker and is primarily black in colour with a bit of white and an eye-catching orange. Its body type is that of a bird and Pikipek’s head is round with the top part of the head being pointed backwards. The front part of the pointy edge is orange and it extends all the way down to its grey beak with black edge. The back part of the same is black and extends all the way down and covers the entirety of the back of Pikipek’s head. The front side of its face is white and on either side of the beak are it’s eyes. The eyes themselves are blue with the iris and pupil being black. Pikipek’s body is tiny and consists of wings, tail and legs. The legs stick out from the bottom and are grey while the rest of the body apart from its chest is black, the chest being white. The section under its wings is white.
Behavior
Based on a woodpecker, Pikipek redefines the power of the move Peck with its abilities. Being able to peck 16 times every second, it creates holes in trees to store food inside trees. Because of this, Pikipek has incredibly strong necks which supports it to do so and it mainly feeds on berries which are kept inside these holes it creates through pecking trees. After feeding on them, it stores the seeds inside its mouth. These seeds are later used as ammunition to fight off enemies while attacking using its mouth. With the abilities to peck 16 times a second and to fire seeds at a rapid rate from its mouth, it has both long ranged and short ranged attacks covered.
Strengths and Weaknesses
Pikipek is a Normal/Flying type, which means that it’s weaknesses and resistances are similar to other regional birds. While it takes double the normal damage from Electric, Ice and Rock type moves, Pikipek is resistant to Bug and Grass type moves. In addition, it is also immune to both Ground and Ghost type moves.
Best moveset
With access to the ability Skill Link, Pikipek can be incredibly powerful with a Life Orb, as a held item. Skill Link makes sure that Bullet Seed hits 5/5 times, which means that it is a 125 power move without any consequences. Brave Bird is the STAB move which has a whole 120 power along with STAB, making this the most powerful option. Brick Break is for coverage and can be replaced with Flame Charge or U-Turn. Finally, Roost is an incredible healing move which helps you recover not only from enemy hits, but also from the recoil of Brave Bird and the consequences of using Life Orb.
