Pokemon GO: Black and White Kyurem's signature moves announced

Black and White Kyurem's signature moves are coming to Pokemon GO, according to the official GO Tour Unova blog. This will happen first in the in-person event in New Taipei City, Taiwan, and Los Angeles, USA, from February 21 - 23, 2025, and then in the rest of the world on March 1 and 2, 2025, during the Global version.

Black Kyurem's signature move is called Freeze Shock, and White Kyurem's one is called Ice Burn. These attacks will be available via a special method in Pokemon GO and are expected to be extremely strong — much like the signature moves of the Primals, Origin Formes, and the Necrozma Fusions.

To get a Black Kyurem that knows Freeze Shock, you must Fuse Zekrom with a Kyurem that knows the move Glaciate using 1,000 Volt Fusion Energy, 30 Zekrom Candy, and 30 Kyurem Candy.

How to get White Kyurem with Ice Burn in Pokemon GO

You can get a White Kyurem that knows Ice Burn by Fusing Reshiram with a Kyurem that knows Glaciate using 1,000 Blaze Fusion Energy, 30 Reshiram Candy, and 30 Kyurem Candy.

Upon Fusion, Freeze Shock and Ice Burn will take the place of Glaciate. Separating Kyurem from either Zekrom or Reshiram will lead to the removal of Black or White Kyurem's signature, respectively. Glaciate will be restored to Kyurem's moveset.

Are Black and White Kyurem's signature moves good in Pokemon GO?

Black Kyurem and White Kyurem's signature moves — Freeze Shock and Ice Burn — are expected to be extremely powerful attacks in Pokemon GO. While their stats have not yet been shared by Niantic, if past trends are any indication, these attacks might push the creatures to the top echelons of their category.

Black and White Kyurem might even turn out to be meta picks in the Master League, where the creature's base form has had some niche uses over the years.

Like Origin Forme Dialga and Palkia and Dusk Mane and Dawn Wings Necrozma, Freeze Shock and Ice Burn getting Adventure Effects is also a possibility. However, confirmation from Niantic is awaited on these matters.
