Pokemon GO's May Community Day features Kalos Fire-starter Fennekin. You will encounter this creature more frequently between 2:00 pm and 5:00 pm local time on Sunday, May 21, 2023. As per Community Day norms, you will also have a higher chance of encountering a shiny version of the Pokemon.
Moreover, this Community Day brings you the opportunity to catch Fennekin's evolved form, Braixen, through four-star raids. Your journey towards getting a Delphox that knows the event's featured attack, Blast Burn, will become slightly easier if you succeed.
If you are wondering how to take down Braixen when it appears in raids near you, you are in the right place. This guide will provide you with all the information required to successfully defeat and capture Braixen in Pokemon GO.

Everything you need to know about the four-star Braixen Raid during May Community Day in Pokemon GO
Braixen will be available as a four-star raid boss between 5:00 pm and 10:00 pm local time on May 21. You will have to venture outdoors and fight the creature in gyms as remote raid passes will not be valid for these raids. An added incentive is that taking part in one of these raids will greatly increase Fennekin spawn rates around that gym with Community Day level shiny rates.
Braixen is a pure Fire-type Pocket Monster in Pokemon GO, which makes it vulnerable to only three elemental types, namely Water, Rock and Ground. The Braixen you will encounter in the four-star raid during the Community Day event can use Fire, Normal, and Psychic-type moves, with most of its attacks corresponding to its elemental typing, i.e. Fire.
On the other hand, it is able to resist six different elemental types — Bug, Steel, Fire, Grass, Ice, and Fairy. Therefore, it is recommended that you don't use attacks of these types against Braixen.
Your best bet will be to take creatures that resist Fire-type attacks while dealing STAB super effective damage. Here are the strongest Pokemon that can take down four-star raid boss Braixen easily along with their recommended Fast and Charged attacks:
- Mega Swampert: Mud Shot + Hydro Cannon
- Mega Gyrados: Waterfall + Hydro Pump
- Groudon (Primal): Mudshot + Precipice Blades
- Mega Aerodactyl: Rock Throw + Rock Slide
In this four star-raid in Pokemon GO, Braixen will have a CP of 21248 as the raid boss. This means you can easily defeat it on your own if you use powerful Mega evolved Pocket Monsters from the above recommendations. However, if you don't have Megas, consider getting another person to raid with you so you don't end up losing your Raid Pass.
You will be able to catch Braixen between 975 and 1036 CP at level 20 in the absence of weather boost. If the weather is Sunny (unlikely given the timing of the raid), you can catch it at 1219-1295 CP at level 25. Overall, this Pokemon GO raid should be fairly easy to complete, so you can add a couple of Braixen to your collection.
