Pokemon GO's yearly Halloween update is one of the few occasions for which Niantic spruces up the overworld map. To celebrate the holiday, Pokemon GO's map has been painted in beautiful fall colors and spooky decorations. While this has definitely helped players enjoy the events much more, some unexpected issues have cropped up.

It would seem that the overhauled decorations on the game's Pokestops were causing issues for many players. This glitch has gotten so bad that the developers themselves have acknowledged it. Here is everything to know about this bug in Pokemon GO.

For the Halloween season, Niantic has decorated the Pokestops by painting them orange and adding a few pumpkin decorations. This led to some issues with the game, potentially caused by conflicting code between the standard Pokestop and the event variant, or it could be related to the user's device.

Regardless of the cause, upon hearing of this issue, Niantic temporarily disabled the feature so they could investigate the reason behind it and resolve the issue. Thankfully, this issue has been fixed for a few days now, so players can continue to enjoy the Halloween decorations.

However, many fans on the subreddit pointed out that this was never an issue with previous renditions of the event. According to them, it was a bit silly that such slight changes in the visual caused the game to crash. Nevertheless, glitches and bugs have always been an issue in Pokemon GO despite its age and frequency of updates.

While Niantic has resolved one game-breaking issue in Pokemon GO, there are still a fair amount of bugs within the title that can still cause game crashes. Many players online have been wondering when Niantic will do something about the other glitches present in the game.

A large portion of users feel that glitches of this severity in a game as old and as actively updated as Pokemon GO are a bit ridiculous, and with even more features being added to the title, the future is uncertain.

Pokemon GO is currently in its most innovative season yet. However, with so much game-changing content coming to the title, the chance for glitches is high. The most recent creature to come to the game, Morpeko, has reportedly had some issues when changing forms. Morpeko changing forms can occasionally lead to the game crashing.

Gigantamax Pokemon also debut in the game tomorrow (October 27, 2024). These raids are going to be the most challenging fights in Pokemon GO to date and feature new designs for various creatures. The lobby size for these raids is also doubled compared to standard Raid Battles. With this in mind, some connection and performance issues are to be expected.
