Pokemon GO Legendary Heroes brings a variety of encounters, Field Research tasks, and Collection Challenges into the mix, with plenty of them dependent on the choice trainers make between the Sword Path or the Shield Path. The choice will be available as part of the free Timed Research during the event.

Pokemon GO Legendary Heroes event overview

Schedule and event bonuses

The event is due to start on Thursday, September 26, 2024, at 10 am local time and end on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, at 8 pm local time. The event bonuses are as follows:

  • Special Trades will require 50% less Stardust.
  • Koffing will be able to evolve into Galarian Weezing.

Timed Research Sword Path or Shield Path

A free branching Timed Research will be available to Pokemon GO trainers during Legendary Heroes where they have to choose between Sword Path or Shield Path. The choice will determine the encounters they have and the Collection Challenge they have to complete.

Sword Path Incense Encounters

  • Seedot [shiny encounter available]
  • Scraggy [shiny encounter available]
  • Gothita [shiny encounter available]
  • Deino [shiny encounter available]
  • Swirlix [shiny encounter available]
  • Passimian [shiny encounter available]

Shield Path Incense Encounters

  • Larvitar [shiny encounter available]
  • Lotad [shiny encounter available]
  • Croagunk [shiny encounter available]
  • Solosis [shiny encounter available]
  • Spritzee [shiny encounter available]
  • Oranguru [shiny encounter available]

These pocket monsters will enjoy an increased spawn rate in the wild:

  • Galarian Ponyta [shiny encounter available]

  • Sobble
  • Skwovet [shiny encounter available]

The raid bosses during the event are as follows:

  • Three-Star Raids: Turtonator [shiny encounter available], Drampa [shiny encounter available]

Collection Challenges and Field Research

Legendary Heroes-themed Collection Challenges and Field Research tasks will be available during the event. As mentioned above, the former will depend on the choice made between Sword Path or Shield Path. For the latter, rewards include Rare Candy, Stardust, and Galarian Slowpoke encounters.
