Niantic has officially teased a new feature that will come to Pokemon GO in one of the future updates. It is called Party Play, and will add a new way to how you can enjoy the game with your friends. Like the Routes feature, it is set to be the next big thing, and we can only hope it isn’t as broken at launch as Routes was.

In this article, we will walk you through everything we know about the Party Play feature in Pokemon GO.

A post was made from Pokemon GO’s official X account, where Niantic declared that Party Play is a real thing and it will come to the game very soon. There was a post made earlier on October 11, 2023, that showed the silhouette of four players. This hinted at Party Play, which was confirmed by the hashtag used in the same post, “GOStartTheParty.”

The official X account posted a short video on October 12, 2023, the very next day. Through it, Niantic made it obvious that Party Play is going to be a thing in the game and that it is not very far away. The video showed a rectangular present. Four mobile screens then revealed the contents of the present, which happened to be the Party Play logo. It confirmed that this feature is going to arrive very soon.

This teaser tells us that you will be able to form a party with three other players and take part in co-op missions. The possibilities seem endless with this one. Whether you are out hunting for a shiny Pocket Monster or you want to take down an obnoxious Raid Boss, Party Play will come in handy in a lot of ways.

You will finally be able to enjoy your favorite augmented reality game with your friends. While it seems promising, we can only be hopeful that the feature doesn't come with game-breaking bugs. It had been leaked for some time now, but since Niantic has officially hinted towards it, we can’t wait to see what’s in store.

While no information has been provided regarding what players can do with Party Play, one feature has been leaked - catching Pokemon at certain PokeStops.

You can form a party of up to four players. Once formed, you can partake in mini-games and catch as many creatures as you can. This information is from a data miner, so it cannot be claimed that it will definitely be a part of the game.

Furthermore, we have come to know that Niantic was supposedly planning to release all the costumed Pikachu variants along with Party Play. The developer was going to do this in conjunction with Fashion Week, but has kept running into certain issues. As a result, we do not know how much of this will be a reality. But we can be hopeful that this does happen as a lot of trainers would love to hunt some shiny costumed Pikachu in the game.
