The two biggest draws to this year's Psychic Spectacular in Pokemon GO are the introduction of the Hatterene evolutionary line and the Metagross line in Max Battles. Hattena, the base form of Hatterene, will be available from seven-kilometer eggs, and rarely through wild encounters.

Beldum will be the Max Battle Raid Boss present during the event and will be set at a Three-Star difficulty level. Being a Steel and Psychic-type, Cinderace and Charizard will be the best counters available for this event.

Luckily, Dynamax Charmander, which evolves into Dynamax Charizard, was just available during the GO Big event. The evolutions of the Dynamax Squirtle line can also use Max Darkness, which is super-effective against Dynamax Beldum.

Tips and tricks for Pokemon GO's Psychic Spectacular

Like other events, the Psychic Spectacular features many bonus multipliers for you to take advantage of. You can earn double the stardust for a successful catch when catching wild Pokemon. You can also gain additional candy from catching a Pokemon with a nice throw.

Those with a profile level of 31 or above have a higher chance of receiving Candy XLs when catching a wild Pokemon with a nice throw or better. However, these bonus Candy XLs will not drop in higher amounts.

Since Hattena will be a rare wild spawn, you may want to stock up on Incenses and Lure Modules. These items can be used to increase the spawn rate of wild Pokemon around certain landmarks or the player. They can be earned for free by leveling up your account. The Daily Adventure Incense can also be used.

Additionally, make sure you have an ample supply of Pokeballs, which are required for catching any wild Pokemon. They can be commonly found in large amounts from spinning Pokestops, opening gifts, and hitting distance milestones with Adventure Sync.
