Pokemon GO Rediscover Kanto takes you back to the first region of the beloved franchise and tasks you to catch critters from the Original 151. The event introduces various biomes to the game with their own specific spawns. We have gathered all the available information below.

Niantic began revamping Pokemon GO with the latest avatar update, and Rediscover Kanto is the next step. The developer will hope trainers have more positive feedback moving forward, with the avatar update being widely disliked.

The event runs from Monday, April 22, 10 am PDT, to Thursday, May 9, 2024, 8 pm PDT.

Pokemon GO Rediscover Kanto event bonuses

The event bonuses are as follows:

• Increased XP for a seven-day PokéStop spin streak.
• Increased XP for a seven-day Pokémon catch streak.
• Friendship levels will increase faster than normal through opening Gifts, trading Pokémon, or battling together in raids, Gyms, or Trainer Battles!
• Increased chance to encounter Shiny Bulbasaur, Shiny Charmander, and Shiny Squirtle in their respective biomes!

Pokemon GO Rediscover Kanto biomes and wild encounters

Biomes pair the theme of the real-life locations with the nature of the wild spawns available there. As Niantic notes, the desert will spawn more Ground-type Pokemon than Water-type Pokemon.

The featured attacks available from evolving Pokemon during the Rediscover Kanto event are as follows:

• Venusaur: Evolve Ivysaur (Bulbasaur’s Evolution) to get a Venusaur that knows the Charged Attack Frenzy Plant.
• Charizard: Evolve Charmeleon (Charmander’s Evolution) to get a Charizard that knows the Charged Attack Blast Burn.
• Blastoise: Evolve Wartortle (Squirtle’s Evolution) to get a Blastoise that knows the Charged Attack Hydro Cannon.
