Pokemon GO's newest content season is almost here. With information regarding the event only coming out now, many details are still a mystery. However, one user on the Silph Road subreddit noticed an accidental teaser Niantic left in the game hinting at a new Mega Evolution coming to the game.
In their post, they show the summary screen for their Shadow Ralts. While everything looks normal at first, there is a new resource being tracked on the species' summary screen showing Mega Energy for Gallade. Here is the post they shared with the community:
As seen in the post, Gallade Mega Energy is apparently being tracked in Pokemon GO. Testing among the community also reveals that Gallade still generates Gardevoir Mega Energy upon reaching its distance milestones. Mega Gallade is not currently available in the title and Niantic has made no statement regarding the creature.

User B0SS_Zombie had the idea that this information could be present in Pokemon GO's files. The most likely instance of Mega Gallade coming to the game in the near future would be during Community Day in January 2025. Since December's Community Day is always a collage of the ones from the months prior, January would be the soonest possible date.
Mega Gardevoir has been in Pokemon GO for quite some time now, so many players are excited to finally have access to its counterpart. However, many Psychic or Fighting-type Mega Evolutions already exist in the game, so the question is whether Mega Gallade will be any good.

Will Mega Gallade be good in Pokemon GO?
While Mega Gallade will have a similar stat distribution to that of Mega Gardevoir, it lacks the arguably better secondary Fairy typing, instead opting for Fighting. The problem with this is that Mega Lucario is a much better Fighting-type Mega Evolution. Mega Gallade does have access to Leaf Blade, which is a decent coverage option that can come in handy for some match-ups.
Compared to Mega Gardevoir, Mega Gallade has one less resistance, which greatly outshines the one extra point in its defense stat it receives over its counterpart. Mega Gardevoir also has access to Shadow Ball and Triple Axel, Ghost and Ice-type charged attacks, respectively.
If Mega Gallade comes to the game in the near future, it is likely that Niantic will update its moveset to ensure it is on even ground with Mega Gardevoir. The former would greatly benefit from Shadow Ball or Shadow Claw being added to its kit, as this would provide it with great offensive coverage. As it currently stands, Mega Gallade may be less than desirable at its launch.
