Pokemon GO Volcarona's best moveset, counters, and competitive viability will interest players as it is one of the rarest Pocket Monsters in the game. Volcarona was released during the An Instinctive Hero event in May 2023, and can only be obtained by evolving Larvesta from Eggs and feeding it 400 Candy.

Is Volcarona good in Pokemon GO PvP and PvE?
Volcarona in Pokemon GO PvP
Since Larvesta is available at a minimum of Level 20 from Eggs, it is presently not possible to have a Volcarona under 1989 CP without trading. Even then, it cannot have CP under 1,500 to be eligible for Pokemon GO's Great League.
In both the Ultra League and the Master League, Volcarona is held back by the lack of a strong Fast Attack. Bug Bite is bad and Fire Spin is not ideal. Therefore, the creature is not able to make the most out of its impressive offensive prowess.
Volcarona in Pokemon GO PvE
Volcarona has some play in the PvE setting while attacking Gyms and mid-level raids. Here it shines both as a Bug-type and a Fire-type, with its respective movesets.
That said, if you wish to challenge raids where Fire or Bug-type critters are strong and plan on achieving the feat on your own, Volcarona should not be your weapon of choice.
