Pokemon GO is a geocaching game that uses the player's actual real-world location for various activities like finding wild Pokemon, hatching eggs, and participating in Raid Battles. The game was a worldwide phenomenon in its debut year, but the hype has quickly died down since.

The game has seen a recent shift in anti-consumer practices, with Niantic nerfing various features and events in order to incentivize users to purchase microtransactions like items, premium currencies, and event tickets. It does have the upside of letting players transfer creatures from the game to the main series titles, but users who do not have access to these titles will get little value from the experience.

With the game being the newest of the three discussed, it has the least amount of content. While it might not have much for players to sink their teeth into yet, it will be a much better experience in a few months or years, depending on how fast the developers release new content.

Pokemon Unite has the most content to offer of all the mobile titles discussed. Being a 5-v-5 MOBA title, players play active rounds against a team of other users, controlling teams of chosen creatures from an ever-expanding roster. The main objective of the game is to score more points by banking Aeos Energy into enemy points on the map.

For players wanting an actual game to pass the time with, Pokemon Unite has it in troves, with a casual and ranked mode, and often includes special maps with alternate game modes. Users can even link their account with the Nintendo Switch version of the game and play it on the big screen with a proper controller if they wish. Of all the games discussed, Pokemon Unite is the most recommended.
