Our Pokemon Horizons Episode 60 recap begins with the kids and their Pokemon donning cold-weather outfits for the trek through the Glaseado Mountains to reach the town of Montenevera where the gym leader Ryme awaits. However, Roy thinks he'll wear ordinary clothes to the mountains, and Liko and Dot realize that Roy has never encountered snowy weather before because of his upbringing on a tropical island.

Fortunately, the kids convince Roy to wear more clothing to avoid catching a cold before his implementation test against Ryme. The trio of Pokemon Horizons heroes walks through a tunnel, emerging on the other side to the snow-blasted environs of the Glaseado Mountains. Liko remarks how beautiful the scenery is as Roy and Fuecoco dive into the snow, but Dot isn't nearly as thrilled.

Floragato points Liko to a nearby location where a Bergmite is feasting on berries, and Liko's Pokedex remarks that Bergmite often has a rivalry with local Frigibax. A Delibird and a Snorunt arrive to try the berries too, as berries don't grow in many places on the frigid mountain range. Fuecoco joins in, but snow falls from a nearby tree onto it, leading the Bergmite to think that Fuecoco is a Frigibax instead.

Just then, an actual Frigibax appears next to Fuecoco, and Bergmie tackles both of the Pokemon away. Roy checks on his Fire-type starter Pokemon while the Frigibax dives back into the fray, and their chilly battle kicks up a Blizzard. Despite the efforts of Fuecoco and Quaxwell, the fight can't be stopped, and then Liko's Hattrem emerges from its Poke Ball.

Thanks to a well-placed attack by Hattrem, both Bergmite and Frigibax are knocked out, stopping the Blizzard. Hattrem then heals the two wild Pokemon, who are confused but go their separate ways. Our Pokemon Horizons heroes reach a frozen lake and enjoy sliding across the ice with their partners before making snow angels and a snowy Captain Pikachu that they take a group picture with.

Roy and Fuecoco venture into a nearby forest and find a snoozing Cubchoo but inadvertently upset a nearby Beartic by getting too close. Liko and Dot arrive to help with Floragato and Quaxwell, who manages to blind the Beartic and allow our heroes to escape, where they notice a nearby cabin. They enter the seemingly empty cabin and dry off while making some tea and enjoying the warmth.

The group decides to stay the night in the cabin before heading to Montenevera and decides to stock up on kindling to keep the cabin warm. Liko, Roy, and Dot split up and agree to return to the cabin before dark. Thanks to Fuecoco and Kilowattrel, Roy stocks up on plenty of kindling but then notices that Fuecoco is missing and sets out to find his best friend in Pokemon Horizons.

Fuecoco, carrying more kindling, drops its sticks and branches off a small cliff. It climbs down the cliff face, but steps on and breaks a small piece of ice that causes it to fall. Roy notices a Pokemon covered in snow but notices that it's Frigibax instead, and it runs away. He finds the Captain Pikachu snowman nearby, realizing he's been walking in circles, and Fuecoco seems just as lost in the landscape.

Fuecoco hears our Pokemon Horizons hero call out to it, but another snow drift falls on it and Roy doesn't see it. The nearby Beartic is heard, leading Roy to move on. Liko and Dot return to the cabin, but Roy continues searching at dusk, remarking that he never imagined being separated from his partner would feel like this. Roy begins to sing, not giving up, and Fuecoco hears him and finds him.

Roy, Kilowattrel, and Fuecoco begin to make their way back to the cabin and notice the Frigibax and Cubchoo enjoying some more berries. The Bergmite approaches and Roy notices the Beartic is nearby, but Fuecoco is too busy eating berries. Roy uses his scarf and a twig to disguise the Frigibax so that the Bergmite doesn't attack it like before and draw the Beartic's attention.

Unfortunately, more snow falls on Fuecoco, but Fuecoco shifts the snow to look like the nearby Cubchoo. The Beartic returns, but it decides to enjoy the berries with Roy and the other Pokemon instead, creating quite a tender moment for Pokemon Horizons fans. Roy returns to the cabin and explains what happened, but Liko and Dot ask him where his firewood is, making him realize he lost it.

Our Pokemon Horizons heroes make do with what they have and spend the night in the cabin. The camera pans to Roy's active Rotom Phone while the trio is sleeping, showing a picture that Roy took with the Frigibax, Cubchoo, Beartic, and Bergmite, and his Fuecoco. In the morning, Roy and Fuecoco walk ahead of the group, determined to reach Montenevera and start their implementation test.
