Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are currently hosting special Tera Raids housing the iconic Flying-type from the Galar region, Corviknight. The raids, which are currently ongoing, will end on December 5, 2024. That said, Corviknight has become a metagame staple thanks to its high bulk, utility moves, great ability, and its Steel and Flying typing. As many would assume, this creature has single-handedly replaced Skarmory in the Pokemon metagame.
With this in mind, many players may want to add this special Corviknight to their collection. Unlike other Tera Raid events, this Corviknight Raid Boss has no exclusive Tera Typing, having one chosen at random when it spawns. Here is everything players should know if they are looking to challenge this Raid Boss in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.

As previously mentioned, Corviknight has no special Tera Typing for this event. Hence, it is incredibly difficult to find an optimal offensive counter for every possible circumstance. However, the boss is very predictable with its moveset, only having access to Brave Bird, Drill Peck, and Steel Wing for its attacking moves.
This makes Corviknight very easy to wall off defensively, with groups of players being able to wear it down with their bulkiest monsters. Knowing this, players can begin to build their team of defensive counters best suited for tanking Corviknights attacks while sustaining and boosting themselves with utility and teamwork.

Best counters for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet's Corviknight Raid Boss
Since the Tera Typing of the Corviknight Raid Boss can have differing elements whenever it generates, this section will focus on the best counters for blocking the damage Corviknight deals. Trainers will need to be adaptable with the movesets they use for these picks.
Magnezone is the best possible defensive wall for this fight. This is thanks to the creature's Steel and Electric typing, providing it with a quad-resist to all of Corviknight's attacks. Electric is a strong offensive element, dealing neutral or better damage to 14 out of 18 total main types in the game. Taking Iron Defense and Body Press can further add to its expansive coverage options for this fight.
Kantonian Slowbro is a great tank for players looking to keep themselves healthy during the fight. While it does not resist Corviknight's Flying-type attacks, it has amazing physical bulk and access to Slack Off to restore its health. Slowbro also has access to the Iron Defense Body Press combo, allowing it to deal massive damage by maximizing its defense.
Thundurus in its Therian Forme has some of the highest attacking damage for this fight if Corviknight is a disadvantageous type. While this creature may be hard to come by for those without previous titles or Pokemon Scarlet and Violet's expansion pass, its pure Electric typing and high stats make it one of the strongest choices for most type-neutral raids.
