Pokemon Scarlet and Violet's latest 7-star Tera Raids feature an Electric-type Emboar. They can be challenged from June 13 at 5pm PDT to June 16, 2024, at 4:59 PDT and then again from June 20 at 5pm PDT to June 23, 2024, at 4:59 PDT. Since Emboar can't usually be obtained in the wilds of Paldea, this presents a great chance to catch one. However, trainers will need the right counters to beat it.
Emboar the Unrivaled, as a Terastallized Electric-type Pokemon, has one exploitable weakness. The counters to defeat this raid boss will be high-octane battlers that can exploit its Achilles Heel.
With counters that have quality moves, held items, and EV training, Emboar the Unrivaled should be simple to defeat.

- Ability: Reckless
- IVs: 31 IVs in all stats

- Electric
- Flying
- Steel
Best counters to Electric Emboar in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet raids
The best counters to beat Electric Emboar will be Ground-type or partial Ground-type Pokemon, ideally those that can resist or negate the various moves that the raid boss uses. Fortunately, several Pocket Monsters meet this criteria, and it shouldn't be too difficult to formulate a build to take down Emboar the Unrivaled.
However, if trainers are hunting for specific builds, they can give these options a try:
How to beat Electric Emboar in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet raids
Below, players can find the strategies to defeat Electric Emboar using the builds outlined above:
- Swampert - Utilize Rain Dance to reduce the overall damage of Emboar's Fire-type moves. Screech and Bulk Up are combined to decrease Emboar's Defense stat and increase Swampert's Attack stat, respectively. Attack using Earthquake for heavy damage, especially after Terastallizing into a Ground-type. The Shell Bell should help Swampert stay healed, and its Water/Ground type combination should keep it from being damaged much by most of Emboar's arsenal.
- Therian Landorus - Thanks to its Ground/Flying type combination, Therian Landorus will be able to resist or ignore most of Emboar's moves. Swords Dance and Leer are used to increase Therian Landorus' Attack stat and reduce Emboar's Defense stat, respectively. Mud-Slap can also be used to lower Emboar's accuracy. Shell Bell keeps Therian Landorus healing over time.
- Mudsdale - Mudsdale's Stamina ability provides defensive buffs, and Sandstorm can be used to deal damage over time against Emboar. High Horsepower is the main damaging move, but if players miss, they can switch to Stomping Tantrum for extra damage. As always, Shell Bell is available to provide healing so Mudsdale stays in the fight.
By sticking to these strategies, the majority of Emboar's offensive capabilities should be nullified. The critter can still deal some damage, but nothing compared to what it would deal against Pokemon that don't counter it.
With these builds, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet trainers should be able to topple Electric Emboar fairly quickly.
