Pokemon Scarlet and Violet may not have been the most appreciated games at launch, but with the conclusion of their expansion pass, many players feel the titles offered an overall satisfying experience. However, one of the biggest issues trainers still have with these releases is the abundance of visual and performance bugs they have.

User IsolarniMama on the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet subreddit recently shared an encounter they had with a visual bug that greatly distorted the appearance of a wild Florges. They went on to call the creature:

"A Florges abomination."

Seen from multiple angles, this Florges visual bug is much more than noticeable. Given the critter’s many limbs and overlapping heads, it is safe to assume that this is a glitch caused by Scarlet and Violet's differing sizes for wild Pocket Monsters. There could have been a hiccup when generating the Florges' size in the overworld, resulting in the bug.

With Florges’ many limbs and eyes, many users on the subreddit made jokes that the critter looks more like an angel than a wild animal seen while out on a stroll.

Interestingly, other players also shared their experiences with this glitch, implying that it has been a long-lasting issue in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.

User sheeplessinohio shared that they encountered the bug while shiny hunting for a Magneton. With Magneton already being three Magnemites stuck together, seeing a large mass of Magneton fused likely made for an interesting sight.

Many players also said this glitch seemed apparent during the Mass Outbreak events in the overworld.

User CowTippingGiant shared their experience while shiny hunting Florges, stating that they never encountered the glitch without a Mass Outbreak being in effect. These events take place randomly across Paldea and can be seen from the Rotom Phone's map. They feature the creature depicted in the icon on the map, spawning in mass quantities.

With this in mind, the glitch that many players may be seeing could be caused by Scarlet and Violet having to spawn so many of a given creature at a time that their size is not properly rendered to keep up with the demand. With bugs like these being so frequent in the games, some may wonder if they will ever be patched.

Will Pokemon Scarlet and Violet ever be updated?

With Pokemon Scarlet and Violet receiving their last update in February 2024, it is unlikely that a patch update for them is in the works.

The titles are still updated with the occasional online raid event, and there is attention paid to the competitive scene, so Game Freak's development team still has its eyes on these games.
