As Pokemon Sleep continues to introduce the Legendary Beasts to its roster of Pocket Monsters, a Water Type Week event has been announced in anticipation of the Legendary Beast Suicune arriving in the sleep-tracking game. Before diving into the Suicune Research event in September 2024, trainers can enjoy some time with various Water-type species during Water Week on August 19-26, 2024.

Beginning on August 19 at 4:00 am and lasting until August 26 at 3:59 am, Pokemon Sleep's Water Type Week event will provide the ability to use the Mini Candy Boost to raise their helper Pokemon and encounter plenty of Water-type Pokemon throughout the event's tenure.

To help players in Pokemon Sleep encounter more Pokemon and train their new and existing helpers, several bonuses will be in effect from August 19-25. The full summation of these bonuses can be found below:

  • During sleep research, one Pokemon is guaranteed to arrive hungry.
  • During sleep research, a few Pokemon of different sleep types will appear regardless of your sleep for a given day during the event.
  • Certain Pokemon (likely Water-types) will be more likely to appear during sleep research.
  • The limited-time Mini Candy Boost will be active. This allows helper Pokemon to earn double experience from using candies in exchange for using four times as many Dream Shards per candy. The Mini Candy Boost can be utilized for up to 50 candies per day and is active by default but can be deactivated by tapping the button in the upper right of the Level Up screen in case they'd prefer to save their Dream Shards.

As one might expect, Water-type Pokemon will have their appearances boosted during Pokemon Sleep's Water Type Week. Additionally, with the event beginning on August 19, two new Pokemon will be introduced in the form of Wooper and its evolution Quagsire. According to the developers, the following Pokemon will have their appearance rates boosted during Water Type Week:

  • Squirtle
  • Wartortle
  • Blastoise
  • Psyduck
  • Golduck
  • Slowpoke
  • Slowbro
  • Vaporeon
  • Totodile
  • Croconaw
  • Feraligatr
  • Wooper
  • Quagsire

It should be noted that boosted Pokemon appearance rates during this Pokemon Sleep event will only be in effect in the areas where featured Pokemon can be found. A breakdown of each area and boosted Pokemon can be found below:

Final notes

In addition to the bonuses and boosted encounters outlined above, Pokemon Sleep players will want to be aware of a few caveats. These facts may be worth keeping in mind as fans continue documenting their sleep research throughout Water Type Week:

  • Event bonuses will only apply to sleep data tracked during Water Type Week.
  • If players wait to report their sleep data that they tracked before the event and select "Review Later" during Water Type Week, event bonuses won't be applied to this data. However, if players wait to report their sleep data tracked during the event with "Review Later" after Water Type Week has concluded, the bonuses will apply to the data.
  • Sleep tracking during the tutorial will not activate event bonuses.
  • Bonuses will activate regardless of the site where Pokemon Sleep players conduct their sleep research.
  • The Mini Candy Boost function will deactivate at the end of Water Type Week. When it returns, it may not have the same parameters as it did during this event.

With all of this in mind, hopefully, fans can get plenty of snoozing research finished, train up their helper Pokemon, and meet a few friendly faces ahead of the debut of Suicune in September 2024.
