Mega Lucario's Raid Day in Pokemon GO has excited a lot of hardcore players. Thanks to the occasion being a Raid Day, trainers will be able to challenge the Pocket Monster remotely. In addition, free Raid Passes for in-person attendance of the respective battle will be available in higher frequencies.
The event has been said to feature a ticket worth $5, which promises to reward 13 free Raid Passes for spinning photo disks at gyms. However, this information was miscommuniated by Niantic, leaving players to believe that they would receive 13 additional free Raid Passes instead of receiving a total of 13 free Raid Passes.
Niantic has decided to make up for the mistake in its description of the Mega Lucario Raid Day ticket. Though the developer only intended to give out an additional eight raid passes to ticket holders, it has decided to offer them an additional 13 instead.
User Entire_Pineapple4732 commented on Niantic's X post about the situation on Pokemon GO's subreddit, saying:

"Rare Niantic Win"
While this seems like a nice gesture on behalf of Niantic, the decision was likely made to potentially raise the value of the Mega Lucario Raid Day ticket, incentivizing more trainers to purchase it.
Nevertheless, this is still a huge win for those who will or already have purchased the Mega Lucario Raid Day ticket.
User gonomon seems to share this sentiment. This way of thinking is much more common when players consider the recent Mega Rayquaza raid event, which was originally slated to be a Raid Day, similar to what is being done for Mega Lucario. However, it changed to an Elite Raid event seemingly at the last minute.
Many fans still remember this Mega Rayquaza situation and mentioned it under Entire_Pineapple4732's post.
This has shifted the sentiment to feel more like Niantic is preserving its profits. Adding content to an already-paid premium add-on for an event will only offer more incentive compared to retaining a much less profitable event, like what was promised for Mega Rayquaza.
In addition, the free passes that players collect from the event will stay on their account until they are used. This means those who purchase the ticket for Mega Lucario Raid Day will be able to walk away from the occasion with a maximum of 13 free Raid Passes in their bag, which could come in handy for later events.
How to make the most of Pokemon GO's Mega Lucario Raid Day
Since Mega Lucario's Raid Day in Pokemon GO allows for Remote Raiding, players should utilize it to make the most of the occasion. However, Remote Raid Passes are not cheap, costing 195 Pokecoins per unit.
The next best option would be to complete in-person raids with the large amount of free Raid Passes players can collect, even if they do not purchase the ticket.
