Appearance
Regirock is a large, golem-like, brown and orange rock Pokemon. Its face is depicted with seven dots in an “H” pattern and its entire body seems to be formed of rocks of varying shapes and sizes, although it has large orange rock-like shoulderpads and flattened rocks for feet. It is actually the shortest of the generation three Regi Pokemon, at only 5 feet and 7 inches, or 1.7 meters, tall.
Behavior
Regirock is one of the three Regi Pokemon that were introduced in generation three. Along with the other two Regi Pokemon, it is one of the protectors of the Tree of Beginning. Its singular purpose in the movie was to protect this tree and will repair any damage it takes with various rocks. The Pokedex states that Regirock was sealed away by people long ago, and its body was made from rocks and boulders from entirely different locations.
Strengths and Weaknesses
Similar to the other Regi Pokemon, Regirock has one inflated stat over all others. That is showcased by a ridiculously high physical defense stat along with respectable physical attack and special defense. However, the rest of its statline is abysmal and it has a hard time functioning outside its niche. As a monotype rock Pokemon, Regirock is 2x weak to fighting, ground, steel, water, and grass type moves. It is immune to no types, but will resist normal, flying, poison, and fire type moves.
Shiny Regirock
The differences between Shiny Regirock and regular Regirock are relatively discernible. The light brown body in the normal version is now a darker shade in Shiny Regirock which also applies to the orange colour palette all across various parts of its body. Even the seven dots on Shiny Regirock’s face are a slighter darker hue of orange. Like all shiny Pokemon, Shiny Regirock gains a starry animation upon entering battle.

Best Moveset
In competitive play, it is best to consider Regirock as a defensive Pokemon with some offensive capabilities. You will want to take advantage of Regirock’s absurd physical defense with the held item Leftovers. Consider running Stealth Rock, Stone Edge/Rock Slide, Thunder Wave, and Earthquake to have the best chance of success. The chip damage from Stealth Rock cannot be understated, Stone Edge and Rock Slide are interchangeable as your STAB (Same Type Attack Bonus) option, Thunder Wave can help you disable your opponent’s Pokemon, and finally Earthquake functions as type coverage.

How to Catch Regirock in Pokemon Go
If you would like to obtain a Regirock in Pokemon Go, the only way to do so is to encounter one in a tier five raid battle. As a legendary Pokemon, Regirock does not appear in the wild and you cannot encounter one naturally and likewise, you cannot hatch a Regirock from an egg as it is a legendary Pokemon.
