This guide will showcase Reuniclus’s capabilities in battle, its appearances in the anime, as well as other general facts about Reuniclus.

Reuniclus

About Reuniclus

Reuniclus’s first appearance in Pokemon media was in the Pokemon movie White - Victini and Zekrom. It played a minor role here as Damon’s Pokemon and battled Ash’s Pikachu. As a generation five Pokemon, it comes from Unova. Reuniclus is part of a three stage evolution line that starts with Solosis which evolves into Duosion at level 32 and subsequently into Reuniclus at level 41. The Pokedex states that it controls its arms with psychic ability and it is strong enough to destroy boulders.

Appearance

Reuniclus is a light green Pokemon surrounded by darker green jelly and has a large round head with stubby arms and legs, but the jelly that surrounds it also has appendages that resemble arms. There are small ovals that extend from Reuniclus’s main body further into the jelly’s arms. Each of the ovals becomes larger the further they get from Reuniclus’s body and vary in color but despite that it is a small Pokemon at 3 feet and 3 inches, or 1 meter, tall.

Reuniclus Appearance

Behavior

As a psychic Pokemon, Reuniclus is capable of floating as well as exhibiting supernatural powers. While they are not typically found in groups, Reuniclus will often meet with each other to increase their psychic prowess. The Pokedex states that Reuniclus will meet with each other to form a network between their brains, sharing experiences as well as psychic capabilities. Their jelly arms are controlled with brain waves and they are powerful enough to crush boulders.

Strengths and Weaknesses

Reuniclus has a large bulk of health along with a powerful special attack stat. While it is abysmally slow, it does have a decent share of defensive stats which can make it a strong defensive threat. As a monotype psychic Pokemon, Reuniclus is 2x weak to ghost, bug, and dark type moves, and is immune to nothing but is resistant to fighting and psychic type moves.

Best Moveset

Succeeding with Reuniclus requires a decent chunk of set up, luckily it has the statline to support this general strategy. With Leftovers, as a held item, you can commit to getting fully set up to sweep the opposing team. But with Life Orb, as a held item, it can help your Reuniclus One Hit KO opposing threats. Consider running Calm Mind, Psyshock/Psychic, Focus Blast/Shadow Ball, and Recover. Calm Mind can take advantage of Reuniclus’s high health and special attack, Psyshock and Psychic are interchangeable as STAB (Same Type Attack Bonus) moves while Focus Blast and Shadow Ball are for type coverage. Finally, Recover will ensure that your Reuniclus stays healthy.

How to Catch Reuniclus in Pokemon Go

If you want to obtain a Reuniclus in Pokemon Go, the easiest way to do so would be to obtain a Solosis and eventually evolve it into Reuniclus. Like most final evolution Pokemon, its base evolution is a common spawn as compared to its final evolution. Solosis can be hatched from 5 km eggs as well as encountered near beaches and grasslands in the wild. Unfortunately, Reuniclus has not appeared as a raid boss in the past, but you can find Solosis in tier two raid battles. While Reuniclus may not be easy to encounter, you should not have too much trouble finding Solosis with enough effort. You will need 25 Solosis candies to evolve into Duosion and another 100 to evolve into Reuniclus.

Trivia

  1. Reuniclus and its evolution line are the only Pokemon capable of learning Thunder through TMs but not Thunderbolt.
  2. The inspiration for Reuniclus’s design comes from mitosis, or how a cell will replicate. The small ovals in Reuniclus’s design represent organelles and the green jelly represents cytoplasm.
  3. The name Reuniclus is a combination of the words reunite, homunculus, and nucleus.

FAQ

How good is Reuniclus?

Reuniclus was near the top of brackets with its introduction in generation five. It has since fallen to the middle of competitive tier lists but it still maintains some relevance as a bulky defensive threat. With enough time, Reuniclus can easily sweep a team of Pokemon.

Who is better, Reuniclus or Gothitelle?

In competitive play, only Reuniclus has managed to maintain its relevance in play. Gothitelle functions as a defensive wall, but it is not too capable of representing a threat. Reuniclus is able to take hits while also setting up to potentially sweep the opposing team. In many regards, Reuniclus is a stronger Pokemon than Gothitelle.

Is Reuniclus a Fetus?

Reuniclus’s design is likely based on cellular division. Its base evolution begins as a single cell, Duosion showcases two nuclei beginning to split, and finally Reuniclus appears to be a fully functioning cell. While it is not entirely wrong to call Reuniclus a fetus, it is much more likely to be referencing the broader term of cellular division rather than a specific fetus.

Conclusion

Congratulations, you now know just about everything there is to know about this “Multiplying Pokemon”. Since Reuniclus’s introduction in generation five, it has managed to represent a bulky defensive threat that only gets stronger the longer a battle goes on. A well built Reuniclus is difficult to handle and can pull off incredible feats on its own. Reserve a slot on your team for Reuniclus if you want a psychic type Pokemon that can single-handedly win a battle.
